The pump might be sucking air; inspect hoses and fittings for airtightness, then turn off the machine and purge the pump by squeezing the trigger gun until a steady water flow emerges. Also, a clogged water inlet filter or obstructed discharge nozzle could be the cause; clean the filter in warm water or clear the nozzle with a fine needle. Finally, calcification in the gun, hose, or spray wand might be the issue; run distilled vinegar through the detergent suction tube.

Another potential cause is an inadequate or damaged extension cord; replace it with a 25 ft. 12/2 gauge cord or a 50 ft. 10/2 gauge cord. Check if the electrical outlet supplies adequate power, and try a different outlet if necessary. Finally, a tripped circuit breaker could be the issue; reset the breaker or ground fault circuit interrupter.
