Why won't my Kärcher Pressure Washer motor start?
    • L
      Lindsay BrooksAug 14, 2025
The motor may not start because the On/Off switch is in the “OFF” (O) position. Turn the switch to the “ON” (I) position. Also, check if the power cord is properly plugged in. Another reason could be an inadequate or damaged extension cord. Replace it with a 25 ft. 12/2 gauge cord or a 50 ft. 10/2 gauge cord. Try a different outlet, as the current one may not supply adequate power. Finally, reset the breaker (power supply) or GFCI, as the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) may have tripped.

Why does my Kärcher Pressure Washer have low pressure?
    • Z
      zburkeAug 20, 2025
Your Kärcher Pressure Washer might not reach high pressure due to several reasons. The diameter of your garden hose could be too small; replace it with a 3/4 inch garden hose. The water supply might be restricted, so check the garden hose for kinks, leaks, and blockages. Ensure there's enough inlet water supply by opening the water source fully. The water inlet filter could be clogged; remove the filter and rinse it in warm water. Make sure the spray wand is in the high-pressure position. If a wash brush is attached, switch to the vario spray wand.

Why does the output pressure of my Kärcher K 520 Pressure Washer vary?
    • N
      Nicole Powell DDSAug 25, 2025
If the output pressure of your Kärcher Pressure Washer varies, it could be due to several factors. Ensure there is enough inlet water supply by turning the water on full force and checking the garden hose for kinks, leaks, or blockages. The pump might be sucking air; check that hoses and fittings are airtight and purge the pump by squeezing the trigger gun until a steady flow of water emerges through the nozzle. The water inlet filter could be clogged; remove the filter and rinse it in warm water. The discharge nozzle might be obstructed; blow out or remove debris with a fine needle. Lastly, the gun, hose, or spray wand could be calcified; run distilled vinegar through the detergent suction tube.

    • V
      vallenAug 27, 2025
A noisy pump in your Kärcher Pressure Washer is often caused by the pump sucking air. Check that all hoses and fittings are airtight. Turn off the machine and purge the pump by squeezing the trigger gun until a steady flow of water emerges through the nozzle.

    • W
      wrightstephenSep 3, 2025
If your Kärcher Pressure Washer spray wand or spray wand extension is leaking, ensure the spray wand is properly attached by inserting it into the wand extension, pushing it in, and turning it clockwise to lock it in place. Also, check that the spray wand extension is correctly attached to the trigger gun by pressing it in against the spring tension and twisting it into the lock position, then turning the spray wand extension collar clockwise until tight. If the o-ring is broken, call Kärcher customer service hotline and order an o-ring.

What to do if my Kärcher K 520 has no detergent?
    • M
      Mary McclainNov 16, 2025
If your Kärcher Pressure Washer is not dispensing detergent, first check that the detergent suction tube is properly connected to the machine. If it is connected, the detergent may be too thick; dilute it, or for best results, use Kärcher detergent. Also, the filter on the detergent suction tube might be clogged, so run warm water through it to remove any debris. If the detergent suction tube is damaged or clogged, remove the obstruction or replace the tube. Ensure the spray wand is not in the high-pressure position; turn the spray wand tip to the low-pressure position. Check that the discharge nozzle isn't obstructed; blow out any debris with a fine needle. Make sure the detergent container is not empty and add more detergent if needed. Finally, ensure the detergent filter valve is not at...
