  If your Kawai Musical Instrument is connected to the computer via USB but the software isn't responding to key presses, first ensure that a USB MIDI driver is installed on your computer. Then, verify that either 'USB Audio Device' or 'KAWAI USB MIDI' is selected in the software’s input/output device settings. Finally, make sure the instrument isn't connected to a smart device using Bluetooth MIDI.

  If your Kawai Musical Instrument won't connect to a smart device via Bluetooth, ensure that the instrument’s Bluetooth MIDI/Audio function is turned on, and that the mobile device’s Bluetooth function is also on. Check that the instrument isn’t already connected to another Bluetooth device. You may also try deleting the instrument’s Bluetooth connection using the mobile device’s “Forget Device” function, or turning the instrument off and on again, and/or restarting the mobile device.

  If your Kawai musical instrument is turned on but no sound is produced when you press the keys, make sure that the MASTER VOLUME slider is not set to the lowest position. Also, check that headphones (or a headphone adaptor plug) are not connected to the PHONES jacks. Finally, check that the “Local Control” setting in the MIDI menu is set to On.

  If a USB memory device is not detected, cannot be saved to, or does not function when connected to the “USB to Device” port of your Kawai Musical Instrument, verify that the USB memory device is formatted to use the FAT/FAT32 filesystem and is not set to “Write Protect” mode. Disconnect the USB memory device, turn the instrument off then on, then reconnect the USB device. If the USB device still does not function, it may be damaged or incompatible; try using a different USB device.
