What to do if my Kenmore Washer won’t run or fill?

If your Kenmore Washer won’t run or fill, or stops working, make sure the power cord is plugged into a grounded 3-prong outlet and that you're not using an extension cord. Check that there is power to the outlet and reset any tripped circuit breakers or replace blown fuses. Also, the lid must be closed for the washer to run. The washer may pause during certain cycles or to reduce suds. Remove several items if overloaded, rearrange the load evenly, and add detergent. Do not add more than 1 or 2 additional items after a cycle has started, and do not add more water to the washer. Only use HE detergent and follow detergent directions. To remove suds, cancel the cycle, select Rinse/Spin, and press START/PAUSE/Unlock Lid without adding more detergent. If problems continue, contact an electrician...
