installation.These include:
a. Adjusting thermostat.
b. Lighting pilot.
c. Leaks in pipes or fittings.
. d. Improper venting
e. Condensation
This manual is in non-technicallanguage.It may help you avoid the
cost of a needlessservicecall. Manyservicecalls reallyarent needed.
Suchaswhen:
1.Thegasisturned "OFF_.
2. Thepilotis out.
3. A gasor waterleakisdueto loosepipeorconnections.
LIMITED WARRANTY ON TANKS THAT LEAK
Through eight (8) years from the date of purchase, ifa leak occurs in the tank, Sears will fiunish, free of charge, a new current model water
heater of closest availablecapacity andquality. If purchaser does not qualify for free installation as provided in the One Year Limited Labor
Warranty below, there'gill be a charge for installation.
If the replacement water heater of dosest availablecapacity andquality does not meet current applicablegovernment standards, there will be
a charge for the difference in price between the replacementwhich does not meet government standards andone which does meet govern-
ment standards
If the water heater is subjected to commercial, institutional, orindustrial use or use in residences of two families or more, the above warranty
coverage for tanks that leak is effective for two years from the date of purchase and the Limited Warranty On Parts below is effective for one
year from the date of purchase.
LIMITED WARRANTY ON PARTS
Through eight (8) yearsfrom the date ofpurchase,whenyour Stars Kenmorewaterheaterisinstalledand operatedin accordancewith the
instructionsin thismanual,ifa part failsdueto afailurein materialsorworkmanship,Searswillfurnish a replacementpart freeof charge.
If purchaserdoesnot qualifyfor freeinstallationas providedin the OneYearLimited LaborWarrantybelow,therewillbe a chargefor
installation.
ONE YEARLIMITEDLABORWARRANTYON WATERHEATER
When yourSearsKenmorewaterheaterisinstalledby Searsoritslicensedsubcontractorand isoperatedin accordancewith the instructions
in thismanual,Searswill, for oneyearfrom the date ofpurchase:
Install,freeof charge,the replacementwaterheateras providedby the aboveLimitedTankLeakWarranty.
Repair,freeofcharge,defectsin materialsorworkmanshipofthewaterheateras providedbythe aboveLimitedWarrantyonParts.
To obtain warranty service, SIMPLY CALL 1-80(g4-MY-HOME (1-800-469_i663). This warranty appliesonly while this product is in use
in the United States.
This warranty gives you specific legal tights and you may alsohave other rights which vary from state to state.

Sears Installation Warranty
In addition to any warranty exteoded-to you on the Sears merchandise
involved,which warranty becomes effe,_dvethe date the merchandise is
installed should the workmanship of any Sears arranged installation
prove faulty within one year, Sears will, upon notice rrom you, cause
such faults to be corrected at no additional cost to you. If you want this
heater professionally installed by Sears contact your Sears Salesperson.
They will arrangefor prompt, quality installation.
Sears Installation Policy
All installation labor arranged by Searsshall be performed in a neat,
workmanlikemanner in accordancewith generallyacceptedtrade prac-
tices. Further, all installationsshall comply with all local laws,codes
regulationsandordinances.The customershall alsobe protected,dur-
ing installation, by insurance relating to property damage, Worker's
CompensationandPublicLiability.
