A.SignalWords
Withinthismanualyouwillfindwhatarereferredtoas“Signal”words.These
wordsareusedtoidentifyandconveytheseverityofvaryinghazards.Before
usingthischairyou,andeachpersonwhomayassistyou,shouldreadthis
entiremanual.PleasenotetheSignalwordandconsiderany
warnings,cau‐
tionsordangers.Makesuretofollowallinstructionsanduseyourchairsafely.
TheSignalwordreferstoahazardoranunsafepracticethatmaycausese‐
vereinjuryordeathtoyouortootherpersons.The“Warnings”areinthree
maincategories,asfollows:
DANGER–Dangerindicatesanimminentlyhazardoussituationwhich,ifnot
avoided,willresultinseriousinjuryordeath.
WARNING–Warningindicatesapotentiallyhazardoussituationwhich,if
notavoided,couldresultinseriousinjuryordeath.
CAUTION–Cautionindicatesapotentiallyhazardoussituationwhich,ifnot
avoided,
couldresultininjuryordamagetoyourwheelchair.
Thesesignalwordswillbeplacedthroughoutthemanual,whereappropriate,to
highlightthehazardoussituation.Refertothefollowinglistforhazardoussitu‐
ationsthatwillapplytothegeneraluseofthiswheelchair.
