Tighten the blade mounting screws if needed. Check deck belt tension and adjust if necessary. Check for damage to mower deck; repair or replace if needed.

  If wet conditions cause grass to accumulate in and plug the discharge chute, clean the chute and avoid mowing very wet grass. Remove accumulated grass clippings from the underside of the deck. Ensure the mower speed is appropriate for grass conditions and the engine runs at full throttle. When mowing very tall grass, first mow with the deck in the highest position, then mow again with the deck at the desired height. Check deck belt tension and adjust if necessary. If blades have been replaced, make sure they have been correctly installed.
