Preparation of a (double) espresso coee
1. Open the lid, take out the water tank and ll the required amount of water
into the water tank. Do not exceed the MAX level.
2. Put the water tank back in place and close the lid.
3. Plug the power cord into the mains outlet and press the on/o button. The
following indicators light up in sequence on the display for about 1 second:
“single cup” > “double cup” > “steam/preheat”. Then all three lights ash
simultaneously and preheating starts. After about 1 minute, the ashing lights
will go out and preheating is complete.
4. Take the portalter out of the device and use the coee spoon to ll the
desired amount of ground coee into the lter sieve. Use the tamper to press
down the ground coee rmly and clean the rim of the portalter of excess
ground coee to avoid damaging the brew head sealing ring.
Note: If too much ground coee remains on the edge of the lter basket, the
lter may leak and water may run out of the lter basket.
5. Holding the top of the unit with one hand, take the portalter handle with
the other hand and rotate it from the unlocked
to the locked position.
Tighten the portalter rmly.
6. Place a cup under the coee spout.
7. Press the double cup button. The machine will start pumping water and coee
ows out of the coee spout.
8. The espresso machine stops automatically. The double cup indicator light
ashes and stays on when the coee is being made.
Note: Do not leave the espresso machine unattended while the coee is being
prepared, as it must be operated manually at times.
9. After the coee has been made, remove the portalter from the machine by
turning it clockwise. Clean the lter screen so that there are no coee grounds
left in it and rinse with hot water. Press the single cup button or the double
cup button, rinse the coee outlet with water and reinsert the portalter with
the cleaned lter sieve into the device. The device is now ready for the next
coee preparation.
