an ef-
ficient
means of controlled lighting.
A
good
basic arrangement
of lights
for
pictures
of
people is illustrated in the
diagram. Turn
the control
ring on both
lights
to srrr,r-
and
place
one light
beside
the camera
a little
higher than
the subject's
eyes.
Place the
other light
on the other
side of the
camera
but
higher. Tilt the reflector
to shine the light
directly
at the subject.
To
get
a stronger highlight,
turn
the control
ring on this light
to spor.
Choose
simple backgrounds, light in tone for
young-
sters,
darker
in tone for adults.
The
distance from
the
ends
of
the bulbs to the
subject
determines
the exposure. For

on
page
27.
