equilibrium of the bath and cause erroneous
test results.
4. Use the black knob on the stirrer shaft for
extending and retracting the shaft to prevent
sample contamination.
5. Raise the stirrer shaft until it is in the fully
retracted position and ensure the stirrer
shaft paddle will not hit the cylinder when
the head assembly is moved. See Figure 3
below:

WARNING: Ensure the stirrer shaft is
fully retracted, in the upward position when
moving the stirrer head assembly left or right
along the rail. Otherwise, shaft may get bent
or damaged and will no longer be useful for
operation.
6. Lift the Stirrer shaft up then move the head
assembly left or right until stirrer paddle is
over the sample to be tested. Lifting the
shaft up unlocks the stirrer in order to freely
move the head assembly. Only when the
stirrer assembly is in a correct test position
will the stirrer lock into place for testing. See
Figure 4.

7. Lower the stirrer shaft down into the test
cylinder. See Figure 5:

8. Continue lowering the stirrer shaft down into
the sample cylinder (Figure 6) until the
alignment pin located near the knob is fully
engaged with the slot of the stirring
mechanism and the magnetic discs on the
stirrer knob and head assembly fully connect
(Refer to Figures 6 and 7)
