5. Plug the tester into the proper AC outlet/power
for tester being used. Turn on the power switch.
The POWER light should be illuminated and one
of the four status lights may be on as well. See
Figure 7-19. This does not represent the condition
of the part.

6. Press the TEST bu on until a click is heard and
then release. See Figure 7-20. Momentarily one
of the four lights will illuminate indicating the
partial condition of the part.

a. If the OK (green) light comes on, disconnect
the tester black lead a ached to one AC
terminal and reconnect it to the other AC
terminal. Repeat the test. If the OK (green)
light comes on again, the part is good and
may be used.
b. If any other light is displayed* in either of
the tests, the recti er-regulator is faulty and
should not be used.
*NOTE: A ashing LOW light can also occur as
a result of an inadequate ground lead
connection. Make certain the connection
location is clean and the clamp is secure.
15 Amp Recti er-Regulators
1. Connect the tester ground lead (with spring
clamp) to the body of the recti er-regulator being
tested.
2. Connect the tester red lead to the B+ terminal of
the recti er-regulator and the two black tester
leads to the two AC terminals. See Figure 7-21.

3. Plug the tester into the proper AC outlet/power

4. Press the TEST bu on until a click is heard and
then release. See Figure 7-20. Momentarily one of
the four status lights will illuminate, indicating
the condition of the part.
a. If the OK (green) light comes on and stays
steady, the part is good and may be used.
b. If any other light is displayed,* the recti er-
regulator is faulty and should not be used.
