This document provides installation and user instructions for the Mira Jump and Mira Sprint electric showers. These showers are designed for domestic use and offer a range of power options.
Function Description
The Mira Jump and Mira Sprint are electric showers that heat water on demand, providing a continuous supply of hot water for showering. They are designed to be permanently connected to the water mains and electrical supply. The user can control the power setting (Low, Eco, High) and adjust the water temperature to suit their preference. A start/stop button allows for easy operation.

Safety Information:
The shower can deliver scalding temperatures, cause fire, electric shock, or other personal injury if not operated or maintained correctly. It is suitable for use by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if supervised or instructed. The outlet must not be connected to any tap or fitting other than those specified by Kohler Mira. The shower must not be switched on if water is leaking or if the heater is frozen. It requires local disconnection from the supply mains with a contact separation in all poles providing full disconnection under overvoltage category III.
Usage Features
- Power Settings: The shower features "Low," "Eco," and "High" power settings, allowing users to select the desired heating level.
- Temperature Control: A rotary dial allows for precise adjustment of the water temperature.
- Start/Stop Button: A push-button control to start and stop the shower.
- Showerhead: The shower comes with a showerhead that should be descaled regularly to prevent blockages.
- Hose Retaining Ring: A hose retaining ring is fitted to prevent dirty water backflow, ensuring a minimum gap between the showerhead and the spill-over level of any bath, shower tray, or basin. For Fluid Category 3 installations, an outlet double check valve may be required, increasing supply pressure. Double check valves in the inlet supply are not suitable.
Maintenance Features
- Descaling: The showerhead must be descaled regularly to prevent blockages, which can damage the shower.
- Inlet Filter Cleaning: The inlet filter can be accessed and cleaned by removing the elbow from the inlet connector. This involves rinsing the filter under a running tap to remove particles and, if necessary, using a kettle descalent.
- Fault Diagnosis: The manual provides a detailed fault diagnosis table for troubleshooting common issues such as no hot water, temperature cycling, no temperature control, or low/no water flow. This table helps identify possible causes (e.g., insufficient water supply pressure, microswitch failure, blocked hose/showerhead, scaled heater tank) and suggests remedies.
- Servicing: There are no user-serviceable parts inside the shower. Servicing must be carried out by qualified, competent personnel. Before replacing parts, the underlying cause of the malfunction should be resolved.
- Decommissioning and Recycling: At the end of its serviceable life, the appliance should be disposed of in accordance with local authority recycling or waste disposal policies.
Installation Requirements
- Plumbing: Installation must comply with national and local water regulations. No sealing compounds should be used on pipe fittings. A full bore/non-restrictive servicing valve must be fitted adjacent to the shower. The shower should be positioned at least 200 mm from the ceiling and over a water catchment area.
- Electrical: Installation must comply with BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations). All circuit protection devices, switches, and cabling must be adequate for the rated current. The shower must be earthed, and a separate supply from the consumer unit is required. A 30mA Residual Current Device (RCD) must be incorporated.
- Water Hardness: If water hardness exceeds 200 ppm, a water treatment device should be installed. Malfunctions due to excessive limescale are not covered by the guarantee.
- Freezing Conditions: The shower should not be installed where it may be exposed to freezing conditions. Pipework should be properly insulated.
- High Humidity Areas: Do not install the shower in areas with high humidity and temperature, such as steam rooms or saunas.
Guarantee and Support
The product comes with a two-year guarantee for domestic use (one year for shower fittings) against defects in materials or workmanship. Support is available through a helpdesk service, website, and for spare parts and accessories. Service and repair work can be carried out by nationwide service technicians.
