5. PC program K-KONFIG
To program a KONTRONIK ESC by ProgUNIT a
Windows™ PC and the K-KONFIG PC software is
needed. This program can be downloaded form the
homepage www.kontronik.com.
Disconnect the KONTRONIK ESC from the Receiver
(Master- and Slave-Port) and connect the female plug
of the ProgUNIT to the BEC cable (Master) on your
ESC.
Connect a battery to the ESC.
Now connect the ProgUNIT to a USB port on your
computer. Start the K-KONFIG program. The
following screen will be displayed which allows the
adjustment of the available parameters.
The following parameters can be changed in the
different sections.
General
o BEC voltage - output voltage of the BEC. Be
sure that your receiver and servos can handle
this chosen voltage.
Limits: Min 5V - Max 8V (KOLIBRI 9V)
Default: 5,6V
o Reverse rotation - changes the rotational
direction of the motor. Switching two of the
motor wires can also do this.
o Forward/Backward - activates the forward and
backward function of the ESC.
Battery
o Battery type – Select the used Battery type
(NiCd/NiMH, LiPo, LiFePo)
Default: LiPo
Caution: necessary for correct function of ESC
o Cut off voltage / cell - the cut off / slow down
voltage can be adjusted here.
Limits: NiCd/NiMH 700mV - 1200mV
LiPo 2700mV - 4000mV
LiFePo 1800mV - 2600mV
Caution: too low values will damage the battery
o Under voltage cut off – if capacity limit is
activated and the under voltage limit is reached,
the motor is cut off instead of being limited
down.
o Capacity limit - set the maximum discharge
capacity limit. After reaching the set capacity
limit, the ESC decreases the rpm or even cuts
off.
Limits: Min 0.0Ah - Max 1000.0Ah
Default: 0.0 means not active
o Hold time - If no more receiver signals can be
detected, during this time the last throttle data is
fixed. After this time with still no receiver signals
the motor will be switched off.
Limit: Min 100ms - Max 3000ms
Default: 2000ms
