Eects
Brilliance
Thiseectchangesthebrightnessofthetone.
The seing can be changed by holding down the BRIL-
LIANCE buon and pressing the + or – buon beside the
display.
The seing appears in the display with 003 producing a
brightersoundand001producingalessbrightsound.
Brilliancecannotbeturnedo.
Thesameseingisappliedtoallsoundsandremains
applieduntiltheC1/C1Airisturnedo.Whenthein-
strumentisturnedon,thedefaultseing002isselected.
Byperformingthe“Saveparameterseings”(seepage
13)operationbeforeturnedo,thenewseingsspec-
iedforeachsoundcanbesavedasthedefaultseings.
Reverb
Thiseectaddsambienceanddepthtothesound,produc-
ingthesenseofperforminginaconcerthall.
Each press of the REVERB buon turns the reverb on
(buon lights up) or o (buon turns o).
To change this seing, hold down the REVERB buon
and press the + or – buon beside the display.
The seing appears in the display with 003 producing a
deepreverbeectand001producingalightreverbeect.
Asafactorydefault,theon/oseingforthiseectas
wellasthiseectsseingaresavedwitheachsound.
Byperformingthe“Saveparameterseings”(seepage
13) operation before the sound is switched, the new
seingsspeciedforeachsoundcanbesavedasthe

Chorus
Chorus adds modulation to the sound, producing an ex-
pansivelyrichsound.
Each press of the CHORUS buon turns the Chorus eect
on (buon lights up) or o (buon turns o).
To change this seing, hold down the CHORUS buon
and press the + or – buon beside the display.
The seing appears in the display with 003 producing a
deepchoruseectand001producingalightchoruseect.
Asafactorydefault,theon/oseing forthiseectas
wellasthiseectsseingaresavedwitheachsound.
Byperformingthe“Saveparameterseings”(seepage

TheC1/C1Airincludesallthreeofthepedalsfoundona
grandpiano.Usingthepedalscanaddexpression,control,
andsophisticationtoanyperformance.
Soft pedal (left)
The Soft pedal slightly reduces the volume and softens
thetone.Accuratehalf-pedalingallowsyoutocontrolthe
depthoftheeectbyhowfardownthepedalispressed.
(“half-pedaling”).
Sostenuto pedal (center)
This pedal provides a similar eect as the Damper ped-
al—allowing notes to continue to sound after the key is
released—but the eect onlyapplies tothe notes already
beinghelddownwhentheSostenutopedalispressed.New
notes played after the Sostenuto pedal has been pressed
will not sustain.
Damper pedal (right)
As mentioned above, the Damper pedal allows notes to
continuetosoundafterthekeyhasbeenreleased,adding
arich,resonantdecay.Youcanalsoaddthedamperreso-
nancetotheGermanGrandPiano,ClassicPiano(bank1
and3ofPIANO1)andtheJapaneseGrandPiano(bank2of
PIANO2)tone.Accuratehalf-pedalingallowsyoutocon-
trolthedepthoftheeectbyhowfardownthepedalis
pressed.(“half-pedaling”).
