7-10 Periodical Inspection (Maintenance and inspection
performed by the authorized agent)
It is recommendable to inspect the following items once a year in order to use the instrument safely for a long period.
1. DIP Switch settings record (User settings)
2. The overall exterior of the instrument and installation
3. Optical system parts
4. Operations and functions of each component (including those of the related parts)
5. Non-mydriatic / mydriatic / fluorescein switch operation
6. The captured image using the standard model eye (OD)
7. The captured photograph using the standard model eye (OD)
8. Performance and flash intensity
For information about what is to be inspected and costs, please contact Kowa or your Kowa dealer.
7-11 Repairing the Instrument
If there is a need to return your KOWA to the manufacturer for repair or maintenance, please contact
Kowa or your Kowa dealer indicated on the back cover of this manual.

confirm that the observation
lamp is on by holding your hand
in front of the objective lens.

Switch to “Color” mode by press-
ing “Mydriatic color” and maxi-
mize the light intensity, then visu-
ally confirm the objective lens by
looking from a slight angle of the
front.
No dust, fingerprints and
bodily fluid such as tear.

Scratch, crack or defor-

Visually confirm that there is no
scratch, crack, deformation or
rust on the exterior.

Set the instrument in the photo-
graphable mode and hold your
hand in front of the objective
lens. Visually confirm that elec-
tronic flash from the objective
lens is emitted when pressing
the shutter button.
