6.2 Controlling via RS-232 (for example, using a PC)
You can connect a PC (or other controller) to the VM-28H / VM-216H via the
RS-232 port.
To connect using the Null-modem adapter provided with the machine
(recommended method):
Connect the RS-232 9-pin D-sub rear panel port on the VM-28H /
VM-216H to the Null-modem adapter and connect the Null-modem
adapter with a 9-wire flat cable to the RS-232 9-pin D-sub port on your
PC
To connect without using a Null-modem adapter:
Connect the RS-232 9-pin D-sub port on your PC to the RS-232 9-pin
D-sub rear panel port on the VM-28H / VM-216H, as
Figure 5 illustrates

If a shielded cable is used, connect the shield to PIN 5
PIN 4 is connected to PIN 6
PINs 8, 7, 1 are connected together

6.3 Operating the VM-28H / VM-216H
To operate the VM-28H / VM-216H:
1. Turn ON the POWER.
2. Select the desired input.
3. Press the EDID button to acquire or change the EDID data (see section
6.4).
