What to do if the ice is too large and sticking together in my Kumio ICM1550?
    • L
      Linda BrownAug 12, 2025
If the ice is too large and the pieces are sticking together, it could be due to a wrong ice size selection or ice from previous cycles left in the water tray. Select a smaller ice size. If the issue continues, unplug the power and plug it in again to restart the unit.

What to do if water shortage indicator light is on in my Kumio ICM1550 Ice Maker?
    • M
      mpattersonAug 16, 2025
If the water shortage indicator light is illuminated, it means either there is no water or the pump is full of air. First, add water until it reaches the MAX position. If that doesn't resolve the issue, press the POWER button to restart the Kumio Ice Maker.

Why is the ice not clear in my Kumio Ice Maker?
    • A
      amybarnesAug 25, 2025
The ice may not be clear because the water supply pump isn't working or tap water was used. Use purified water.

What to do if indicator lights on display are not on in Kumio Ice Maker?
    • K
      katieporterAug 27, 2025

Why does my Kumio Ice Maker make a buzzing noise?
    • D
      Donald NelsonAug 31, 2025

Why is the water warming in my Kumio ICM1550 Ice Maker?
    • D
      Donald MyersSep 7, 2025

What to do if all indicators flash at the same time on my Kumio ICM1550 Ice Maker?
    • J
      Jason WrightSep 12, 2025
If all indicators are flashing simultaneously, it could be due to several reasons: the water box is blocked by ice, the motor is stuck, has fallen off, or is damaged, or the micro switch is damaged. Unplug the power, plug it back in, and press the POWER button. The machine will restart automatically after 3 minutes. If the problem persists, further assistance is needed.

This document is an instruction manual for the Kumio ICM1550 Ice Maker.

Function Description

The Kumio ICM1550 is an ice maker designed for household and similar applications. It produces bullet-shaped ice cubes in two different sizes (small and large). The machine features a control panel with indicator lamps and buttons for easy operation. It includes alarms for when the ice basket is full and when the water reservoir is low, ensuring continuous operation and user convenience. The ice maker also has a self-cleaning mode for easy maintenance.

Usage Features

The ice maker is designed for straightforward operation:

  • Initial Setup: Before first use, remove all packing materials, position the machine, and keep the transparent lid open for at least 2 hours. It is recommended to wait 2 hours after positioning before use.
  • Water Type: Spring water is recommended; pure water is not allowed. Mineral water is also recommended. The transparency of ice made with pure water is higher than with tap water.
  • Power On/Off: Plug in the power supply. Press the "POWER" button to start or stop the machine. The "L" indicator flashes upon plugging in and stays on when powered on.
  • Ice Size Selection: Use the "SELECT" button to choose between small ("S") or large ("L") ice. The default mode upon startup is large ice.
  • Water Shortage Alarm ("ADD WATER"): A red light indicates water shortage. Add water to the reservoir and press "POWER" to restart.
  • Ice Full Alarm ("ICE FULL"): A flashing light indicates the ice basket is full. The machine will stop. Empty the ice, and the machine will automatically restart when the ice level is below the full sensor.
  • Placement: The machine should be on a level surface, at least 150 mm away from walls for sufficient ventilation, and away from heat sources like ovens or radiators. Do not tilt the machine more than 45 degrees or reverse it during transportation to prevent damage to the compressor and sealing system.
  • Power Button Frequency: Do not switch the power button on frequently (ensure at least a 5-minute interval) to avoid compressor damage.
  • Environmental Conditions: For indoor temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius, choose small ice. For temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, large ice is recommended.
  • First-Time Use: The first three cycles may produce small and irregular ice.
  • Ice Melting: If the ice basket is full, remove the ice immediately, as it will melt if left for too long.
  • Restart Delay: If the compressor stops due to water shortage, full water, or power interruption, there will be a 3-minute delay before restarting.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • The ice basket and water tank should be cleaned frequently.
    • Unplug the unit and remove ice cubes before cleaning.
    • Use a diluted solution of water and vinegar to clean both internal and external surfaces.
    • Do not spray chemicals, acids, gasoline, or oil on the ice maker.
    • Rinse thoroughly before restarting.
    • The machine has a self-cleaning mode: Press the "POWER" button for 3 seconds to activate. The water pump will cycle water 5 times, then stop and enter standby mode.
  • Ventilation: Keep ventilation openings clear of obstructions.
  • Defrosting: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate defrosting, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Water Change: To ensure ice cleanliness, change the water in the reservoir at least once a day. If not used for a long time, drain the water and clean the unit.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mold development.
  • Restart After Idling: If the machine has been idle for a while and the "ADD WATER" indicator comes on, repress the "POWER" button to restart.
  • Purified Water: When reusing the machine after a long time, start the cleaning function first. Purified water is recommended.
