Procedure
SteP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park
the motorcycle on a hard, level surface; turn off the ignition and allow the engine to cool.
ATTENTION! A factory service manual may be helpful in performing this installation. Do not
attempt to perform this installation if you are not confident in your ability to complete all of the
steps in the procedure; consult a trained technician.

Procedure Step 1

Read and understand all steps before starting installation; prepare the motorcycle.

Installation Steps

Step 2: Remove Fender Cover

Remove the black cover inside the rear fender by pulling at the bottom.

Step 3: Remove Backplate and Hardware

Remove the license plate backing plate and hardware from the taillight housing.

Step 4: Remove Taillight Housing

Remove the taillight housing by releasing the 3 screws on the front.

Step 5: Remove Stock Support Arm Hardware

Remove hardware securing the stock support arm inside the fender.

Step 6: Install New Z-Bracket

Install the new Z-Bracket in place, reusing the stock hardware.

Step 7: Secure Backplate to Housing

Secure the new License Plate Backplate to the taillight housing.

Step 8: Install Taillight/Backplate Assembly

Install the taillight/backplate assembly to the bike using screws from Step 4.

Step 9: Secure Backplate to Z-Bracket

Install 1/4-20 x 1/2" SHCS through back plate into Z-Bracket.

Step 10: Install License Plate and Frame

Install license plate to backplate and place frame over assembly.

Step 11: Tighten All Fasteners

Tighten all fasteners. Ensure they are secure before operating the motorcycle.
