Loading Programs From The PC3K, PC3, or PC3LE
PC3K and PC3 Program Conversion
WhenloadingaprogramfromthePC3KorPC3,theprogramwillsoundthesameontheSP4
asidefromthefollowinglimitations.TheSP4has64voicepolyphonyandcannotplayasmany
notesatthesametimecomparedthetothe128voicepolyphonyofthePC3Kand
PC3.TheSP4
cannotloadsomeeffectsfromthePC3KorPC3iftheyusemorethan10DSPunits.Forexample,
any“doubleleslie”KB3programfromthePC3KorPC3willnotbeabletoloaditsKB3effects
ontheSP4.TheSP4doesnotloadsamples.If
youloadaPC3Kprogramthatcontainsuser
samples,keyrangesthatcontainusersampleswillnotplayproperly.

WhenloadingaprogramfromthePC3KorPC3totheSP4,anyprogramparametersthatwere
assignedtosliderA,sliderB,sliderG,orsliderI,onthePC3Kor
PC3(labeledAData,BMIDI
13,GMIDI26,andIMIDI28)willbecontrollableontheSP4.OntheSP4,controleachprogram
parameterthatwasassignedtotheseslidersonthePC3KorPC3byusingtheSP4’sControl
knobandselectingrespectivelythe1TimbreLED,
the2ModLED,the4EffectLED,orthe5
ReverbLED.UsetheSP4’sControlSelectbuttontoselecteachLED.Seethetablebelowforthe
ProgrammodecontrolsthatcorrespondbetweenthePC3K/PC3and theSP4.
PC3LE Program Conversion
WhenloadingaprogramfromthePC3LE,theprogramwill
soundthesameontheSP4.When
loadingaprogramfromthePC3LE,theprogram’sarpeggiatorsettingsareloadedtotheSP4.If
theprogramwassavedonthePC3LEwiththearpeggiatorenabled,thenthearpeggiatorwillbe
enabledforthatprogramontheSP4.Iftheprogramwassaved
onthePC3LEwiththe
arpeggiatordisabled,thenthearpeggiatorwillbedisabledforthatprogramontheSP4.Oncea
PC3LEprogramisloadedtotheSP4,thereisnowaytoenableordisablethe program’s
arpeggiatorontheSP4.Programswitharpeggiatorsenabledwillnotbearpeggiated
ifusedin
Setupmode.
PC3LE Program Controller Assignment Conversion
WhenloadingaprogramfromthePC3LEtotheSP4,anyprogramparametersthatwere
assignedtoknobs1through5onthePC3LE(labeledTimbre,Mod,Envelope,Effect,and
Reverb)willbecontrollableontheSP4.OntheSP4,controleachprogramparameterthatwas
assignedtotheseknobsonthePC3LEby usingtheSP4’sControlknobandselectingrespectively
the1TimbreLED,the2ModLED,the3EnvelopeLED,the4EffectLED,orthe5ReverbLED.
UsetheSP4’sControlSelectbuttontoselecteachLED.Seethetable
belowfortheProgram
modecontrolsthatcorrespondbetweenthePC3LEandtheSP4.
