This document describes the Low Temperature BOD Incubator, models LBI-150E, LBI-250E, LBI-500E, and LBI-1000E, manufactured by DAIHAN LABTECH CO., LTD.
Function Description
The Low Temperature BOD Incubator is designed for general incubation and low-temperature incubation experiments. It features a microprocessor PID control system that provides precise temperature control from 10°C to 60°C, along with a timer and alarm functions. The auto-tuning feature automatically sets optimal PID values for quick and accurate temperature regulation based on the installation environment.
The incubator is equipped with a silent fan motor that ensures excellent temperature uniformity and quiet operation. It also includes an automatic defrost function. The interior is constructed from high-quality stainless steel, and an internal fan forcibly circulates air to maintain stable temperatures.
For safety, the device incorporates over-temperature and over-current protection capabilities. It alerts the user with visual and audible alarms if the internal temperature deviates from the set range. An additional over-temperature protector safeguards samples from damage due to high temperatures.

Usage Features
Installation:
- Must be installed on a horizontal and even ground, approximately 15cm away from walls.
- Minimum spacing is required for inspection and repairs.
- Avoid placing flammable, volatile, or explosive materials near the equipment.
- Do not place anything on top of the equipment.
- Ambient temperature should be between 5°C and 40°C, with an optimum range of 18°C to 25°C.
- Voltage supply change allowance: lower than 10%.
- Proper grounding is essential for safety. If the power supply is unstable, an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) should be installed.
- Connect tubing to the drain, ensuring the other end is placed in a sink-hole lower than the valve.
Operation:
- Setting Temperature: Press the MODE button once to display "TEMP", then again to enter the set temperature. Use the LEFT SHIFT button to move between digits and the INC button to change values.
- Setting Time: After setting the temperature, press MODE to display "TIME", then again to enter the timer setting (00:00). Use LEFT SHIFT and INC buttons to set the desired time up to 99 hours 59 minutes. If no timer function is desired, set to 00:00.
- Starting/Stopping: Press the START/STOP button to begin or end operation.
- Over Temperature Protection: Set the over-temperature protection dial 10-20% higher than the set temperature. This is an analog device and may not precisely match the digital display.
- Timer Characteristics: The timer only starts counting down once the chamber temperature reaches the set value. The "Timer" indication lamp flickers until the set temperature is reached, then illuminates steadily. Operation stops when the set time elapses.
- Auto-tuning: Can be initiated during operation by pressing the CH/AT button for 5 seconds or more.
Maintenance Features
General Maintenance:
- Ventilation: Ensure the air inlet and outlet vents in the mechanical compartment are not blocked to allow proper heat dissipation.
- Cooling Condenser: Clean the cooling condenser's heat exchanger every 3 months using a vacuum cleaner and an air compressor to prevent dust accumulation, which can reduce cooling efficiency and overload the compressor.
- Noise: Monitor operating noise. Sudden loud or irregular sounds may indicate a malfunction, requiring service.
Electrical Compartment Maintenance:
- Prevent water from entering electrical compartments to avoid short-circuits.
- Unauthorized changes or operations to the electric wiring will void the warranty.
- Remove dust or foreign matter from electric parts annually to prevent malfunctions.
- Maintain the internal temperature of the electric compartment below 60°C to prevent malfunctions due to high ambient temperatures.
Internal Maintenance:
- Regularly clean the interior to prevent moisture accumulation, which can lead to corrosion and contamination.
Refrigerant:
- The refrigeration piping is completely sealed and does not require refilling under normal circumstances. Contact the place of purchase for checks or supplements.
Troubleshooting:
- Power light not on: Check the power cord connection and ensure the circuit breaker is switched on.
- Temperature control not possible: Check the controller's condition, calibrate regulator settings, and ensure the over-temperature protection is set higher than the desired temperature.
- If problems persist, contact customer service.
