17. Video compression – you can choose between the H.264 codec (already in use) and
H.265 (a new and improved codec) which saves space and improves image quality.
WARNING: older video playing software may not support the H.265 codec.
18. HDR – High Dynamic Range is an image-editing technique which captures 2-3 exposures
during one photograph. Long exposure edits dark parts of the photo and short edits the
light parts. They are then combined to produce a balanced photograph.
19. WDR – Wide Dynamic Range uses software to edit an image so light parts are darkened
and dark parts lightened for a better-balanced photo.
20. Scene mode – different scene modes can be chosen depending on ambient conditions.
21. On-screen display – allows information displayed on the screen to be turned on or off.
22. HDMI out – when activated, images can be transferred from camera to TV via an HDMI
cable.
23. Image rotation – rotates camera image 180°.
24. Frequency – allows you to select the frequency in accordance with the mains frequency
(in Europe the network current has a frequency of 50 Hz, in the Americas and parts of
Asia it is 60 Hz).
25. Language – changes camera menu language.
26. Date/Time – sets time and date on camera.
WARNING: Removing the camera battery resets the time and date settings. When the
camera is turned on again, a quick time and date setup option is automatically displayed.
27. Time stamp – enables date and time to be displayed on videos and photos.
28. WiFi name – changes camera Wi-Fi network name and password to access camera Wi-Fi
network.
29. LCD off – when activated, the screen turns off automatically after a selected period of
inactivity or when shooting video.
30. Auto power off – when activated, camera turns off automatically after a selected period
of inactivity.
