Overview

This document provides operating instructions for the Lec PE 507 and PG 507 refrigerators, which are specifically designed for pharmacy use. The refrigerators are characterized by modern functional solutions, soft lines, and subtle design, incorporating innovative technological solutions for high quality.

Function Description

The Lec PE 507 and PG 507 refrigerators are designed to store pharmacy products, accommodating different temperature requirements. Some products require cold storage, while others need a slightly higher temperature, and some must be stored separately. The cooling system elements are located behind the back wall of the chamber to maximize capacity, facilitate cleaning, and increase product durability by protecting against potential damage.

The refrigerators feature automatic defrosting, which limits the need for manual cleaning to a periodical wash of the compartment. They are equipped with ergonomic, modern-shaped door handles without sharp edges for easy opening. Optimally situated lighting ensures perfect illumination of the entire compartment without dazzling the user.

The user interface includes buttons for ON/OFF, lighting control, and keypad lock. LED diodes indicate lighting status, active blockade function, and temperatures below zero. An LED display shows temperatures, service parameters, and alarm symbols. Buttons are also available for previewing minimum/maximum temperatures and for parameter value adjustments. A functional AUX button and a green LED diode indicate the temperature programming mode or manual switch of the AUX output.

The device includes an alarm system for various conditions:

  • Hi alarm: Indicates that the maximum set temperature of the product has been exceeded by a defined difference for a specified delay time.
  • Lo alarm: Indicates that the minimum set temperature of the product has been exceeded by a defined difference for a specified delay time.
  • dr alarm: Signals an open door after 3 minutes with a sound alarm and a "dr" symbol on the display.
  • E1 alarm: Indicates a cooler sensor malfunction.
  • E2 alarm: Indicates an evaporator sensor malfunction.

These alarms are signaled by a sound and a "Hi" caption on the display. Pressing any push button cancels the alarm display, mutes the buzzer, and, for certain alarms, opens the AUX relay contact. Alarms are saved even if the cause no longer exists (except for the open door alarm) but are not saved after a power switch-off.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Models: PE 507, PG 507
  • Application: Designed for Pharmacy use; not for foodstuffs.
  • Ambient Temperature Range:
    • Extended Temperate (SN): +10°C to +32°C
    • Temperate (N): +16°C to +32°C
    • Subtropical (ST): +18°C to +38°C
    • The PE 507 and PG 507 models are specifically designed for operation in ambient temperatures from +16°C to +32°C.
  • Accessories: 2 wire shelves, 1 wire storage container.
  • Dimensions:
    • Height: 865 mm
    • Width: 558 mm
    • Depth: 600 mm
  • Net Capacity: 137 liters
  • Weight: 34 kg
  • Power Supply: 230 V ~50 Hz
  • Rated Current: 0.30A
  • Defrosting: Automatic
  • Lighting Bulb: Max. 15 W, E14 thread, 220-240 V, diameter 26 mm, length 55 mm.
  • Remote Alarm: On PE 507 and PG 507 models, the cabinet alarm can be connected to a remote control station via two 4mm jack-plugs on the rear of the control panel. The external power source for this circuit must not exceed 50 V AC/DC and must be installed by a competent electrician.

Usage Features

  • Placement: The refrigerator should be placed in a dry, ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources (at least 30 cm from oil or coal-fired stoves). If placed next to another refrigerating or freezing unit, maintain a lateral distance of at least 2 cm. The appliance should be level, adjusted using the two turn-in front feet. Ensure the power supply cord is not standing on. For easy door opening, maintain at least 5 cm distance between the hinge side and any adjacent wall.
  • Shelves: Shelves can be removed by lifting the left side at a 45° angle. Installation involves inserting the shelf at a 45° angle and aligning projections with grooves.
  • First Start-up: After switching on, the driver performs an auto-test, displaying dots, program version, and then switching to normal work mode, showing the cooler's temperature.
  • Temperature Setting: The display indicates cooler temperature from -30°C to +30°C.
  • Defrosting: Occurs automatically every 8 hours for a maximum of 30 minutes, or when the evaporator temperature reaches +4°C. The cooler compressor turns off during defrosting.
  • Storage: Products should be placed evenly on shelves, ensuring they do not touch the back wall to prevent frosting or wetting. Hot contents should not be placed in the refrigerator.
  • Door Mounting: The door mounting side can be switched by following a detailed procedure involving turning off the main switch, unplugging, removing food, adjusting feet, unscrewing hinges, and reassembling.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Before filling, the interior should be cleaned with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Periodically, the refrigeration chamber should be cleaned. The door gasket should be cleaned with water only and wiped dry. Detergents containing abrasives or acids are not suitable.
  • Defrosting Cleaning: During automatic defrosting, condensate may contain impurities that can clog the drain opening. If this occurs, gently unclog the opening with the cleaning plug.
  • Evaporator Dusting: Once or twice a year, use a vacuum cleaner to dust the evaporator (black bars) at the back of the refrigerator. Ensure the main switch is off and the mains cord unplugged before cleaning. Be careful not to damage electric wires, protection boxes, or the capillary tube.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table of common problems, their reasons, and solutions, such as ensuring the plug is inserted, checking for electricity, verifying ambient temperature, rearranging products, unclogging the drain, and leveling the appliance.
  • Self-Repair: Users are advised that repairing any problems other than those listed in the troubleshooting table will void the guarantee.
  • Sounds: Different sounds (clicks, buzz, crackles, rustle, gurgle, whistle) may be heard during operation, which do not affect correct functioning. Sources of noise like an unlevel appliance, rubbing furniture, or clinking containers can be easily remedied.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the refrigerator will not be used for a long period, turn off the main switch, unplug the cord, empty, clean, and dry the chamber, and leave the door slightly open to prevent unpleasant smells.
  • Bulb Replacement: To replace the bulb, switch off and unplug the refrigerator, unscrew the bulb cover, replace the bulb with one meeting the specified parameters, and reattach the cover.
