This document describes the Leizig Enclosure Climate Control Unit, a precision electrical device designed to manage the internal temperature of outdoor cabinets. It operates on a phase-transition cooling principle, ensuring reliable performance for sensitive components within the enclosure.
Function Description
The Leizig Enclosure Climate Control Unit is specifically engineered to cool outdoor cabinets, protecting costly temperature-sensitive components by efficiently dispersing heat. It is particularly effective in environments with ambient temperatures ranging from 35°C to 55°C, outperforming other heat dissipation methods such as air/air heat exchangers and filter fan units.
The cooling process involves a refrigerant that undergoes phase changes. High-pressure, high-temperature gaseous refrigerant from the compressor enters the condenser, where it is cooled and liquefied into a high-pressure, medium-temperature liquid. This liquid then passes through a throttling device (capillary or expansion valve), transforming into a low-pressure, low-temperature liquid. This low-pressure liquid enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the control cabinet, changing back into a gaseous state. The gas then returns to the compressor, completing the cycle and maintaining a stable internal environment within the enclosure.
The unit features an internal fan and an external fan, with their operations coordinated with the compressor. The internal fan activates when the cabinet temperature exceeds a user-defined set point (default 15°C) and stops when the temperature drops 2°C below this point (default 12°C). The external fan starts 5 seconds after the compressor activates and stops 5 seconds after the compressor halts. The compressor itself activates when the cabinet temperature reaches or exceeds the set refrigerating temperature (default 35°C) and stops when the temperature falls below the refrigerating temperature minus the difference (default 32°C).

Usage Features
- Installation: Each ECC series model offers three fitting methods: semi-recessed, external mounting (P suffix), or boltless with fast clip (Q suffix), allowing customers to choose based on their specific needs.
- Control Panel: The control panel features three Nixie tubes that display the current indoor temperature, ranging from -20°C to 99.9°C.
- Key-press Guidance:
- SET: Used for parameter setting and viewing. A short press enters view mode, allowing sequential viewing of set values with "UP". Another short press enters setting mode, where the value flashes and can be adjusted with "UP" or "DOWN". A final short press confirms the setting.
- UP: Increments values during parameter setting (short press for +1, long press for rapid increment). Also used to scroll through fault codes in the fault lookup interface.
- DOWN: Decrements values during parameter setting (short press for -1, long press for rapid decrement).
- UP+SET: Enters fault lookup mode. Displays "n.55" if no faults, or the first fault code if faults exist. Use "UP" to scroll through multiple faults. Pressing "UP+SET" again exits fault lookup.
- SET+UP+DOWN: Initiates self-diagnosis during startup countdown.
- SET+DOWN: Enters cooling temperature upper and lower limit range setting during startup countdown.
- No press: The system automatically returns to the main interface after 30 seconds of inactivity if no faults are present.
- Parameter Setting: Users can adjust several parameters, including:
- Refrigerating Temperature (S.35): Compressor activation temperature (default 35°C, not recommended for customer adjustment).
- Refrigerating Temp. Difference (d.03): Temperature difference for compressor shutdown (default 3°C).
- Internal Fan Startup (F.15): Temperature at which the internal fan starts (default 15°C).
- Overtemperature Alarm (L.60): Temperature at which a high-temperature alarm is triggered (default 60°C).
- Factory Reset (8.00): Resets all parameters to default (value 1).
- Self-diagnosis: During startup, a combined key press (UP+DOWN+SET) activates a self-diagnosis sequence. This involves cycling through the internal fan, compressor, external fan, and fault relay, each for 30 seconds, before entering normal operation. The internal fan remains on throughout the self-diagnosis.
- Fault Detection and Protection: The unit includes compressor protection, ensuring a minimum halt time of 3 minutes before restarting. Fault codes are displayed on the Nixie tubes, and users can query them using the "UP+SET" combination.
Maintenance Features
- Maintenance-Free Design: The cooling units are designed to be maintenance-free, with all performance parameters tested and certified at the factory. The fans use ball bearings with a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours.
- Filter Mesh Cleaning: In dusty, oily, or plush environments, it is crucial to regularly clean the filter mesh (recommended twice a month) to prevent performance degradation.
- Power Disconnection: For long periods of non-use or during maintenance/care, the power supply to the unit must be disconnected.
- Professional Operation: Maintenance and power transmission must be handled by professional personnel.
- Safety Precautions:
- Handle the cooling unit gently during transportation and storage; avoid tilting or placing it upside down.
- Ensure the inlet opening of the cooling unit is at the top of the enclosure.
- The ambient temperature around the enclosure should not exceed 55°C.
- Check for signs of damage or oil stains on the packaging, which could indicate refrigerant loss or system leakage.
- The enclosure's protection grade must be IP54 to prevent condensate formation.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 200mm between units or between a unit and a wall.
- Ensure air inlet and outlet within the enclosure are unobstructed.
- Units must be installed horizontally, with a maximum deviation of 2° from true horizontal.
- The internal heat loss from components should not exceed the unit's rated cooling capacity.
- Do not modify the unit's design or configuration.
- Electrical Connection: The voltage and frequency must match the unit's rating plate. A motor protector is recommended for 3-phase units. Refer to the assembly instructions for special voltage requirements.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common faults, including abnormal voltage, compressor not working, high-pressure alarms, and weak cooling. It details probable causes, diagnosis methods, and solutions, such as adjusting power supply, replacing components, cleaning, or contacting the manufacturer.
