INPUT
Balanced COMBO connector (0 dB/ 30 kW): receives the line signal fed into the enclosures
built-in amplifier. This input can receive balanced or unbalanced high impedance line signals from
units with a high level output, moreover, it is possible to use both XLR or JACK connectors.
LINK
Balanced XLR-M connector (0 dB / 30 kW): this connector is connected in parallel to the input
connector and enable the signal to be sent on to a second unit (e.g. another enclosure). Therefore
it is possible to use the same signal to power several cabinets and create sound reinforcement
systems with greater capacity.
VOLUME
Control of the signal level sent to the built-in amplifier: operates with continuous values ranging
from
fully closed (¥ position: the signal is not sent to the amplifier) to fully open (0dB position:
the signal is set to the amplifier at the same level at which it arrives on the input). In other words,
this control is used to
cut the external signal sent to the amplifier.
SIGN/LIMIT
Indicator LED: this is a two-tone LED (green/red) able to show 3 different conditions:
a)
off: no signal
b)
green/SIGNAL: external signal present (minimum level: -26dB)
c)
red/LIMIT: internal compressor operating.
It indicates when the limiter starts operating following the detection of an excessively high signal
level on the input of amplifiers. In this case, the compressor lowers the signal level to avoid damage
to the enclosure components and amplifier clipping. The limiter threshold and time
consultancies have been carefully studied and assessed in order to keep the signal within safety
levels and avoid reduced dynamics.
IMPORTANT
é
when the LIMIT LED lights up, this does not indicate a normal operating
condition, but the intervention of a circuit for safeguarding the system in emergency situations: to obtain
the best results as far as concerned tone response and power output, it is advisable to prevent the LED
from lighting up regularly.
