Why won't the spark igniter light the pilot on my Lennox Indoor Fireplace?

  If the spark igniter on your Lennox Indoor Fireplace fails to light the pilot after repeated attempts, several issues could be at play. First, check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark, and the wire is properly connected, the igniter may be defective and needs replacement. If there is a spark, try lighting the pilot with a match. If it lights, the gas mixture might be off, requiring a purge period. If it still doesn't light, examine the gap at the electrode and pilot; it should measure about 1/8" for a strong spark. If the gap is correct, consider replacing the electrode. Also, ensure that the inlet gas pressure is within the limits specified on the rating plate. Lastly, a plugged pilot orifice can prevent ignition, so clean or replace it.

  If the burners on your Lennox Indoor Fireplace turn on and then immediately shut off, it could be due to a plugged burner orifice. Check the main burner orifices for any blockages and clean or replace them as needed. Another potential cause is an obstructed vent system. Inspect the vent system for any obstructions.

What to do if the pilot light won't stay lit on my Lennox DIRECT VENT MERIT LMDV-33 Indoor Fireplace?

  If the pilot light on your Lennox Indoor Fireplace won't stay lit even after carefully following the lighting instructions, the pilot generator thermocouple may be defective. Ensure the pilot flame is directly impinging on the thermocouple. Clean and/or adjust the pilot for maximum flame impingement. Also, verify that the connection between the valve and thermocouple is tight and secure.
