1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage67.
3.LocatetheopticaldrivebaywhereyouwanttoinstallorreplacetheRDXdrive.See“Server
components”onpage23.
4.DependingonwhetheryouareinstallingorreplacinganRDXdrive,dooneofthefollowing:
•IfyouareinstallinganRDXdrive,removethefrontbezel.See“Removingandreinstallingthefront
bezel”onpage69.Then,removetheplasticshieldforthebayfromthefrontpanel.Removethe
screw1thatsecuresthemetalEMIshieldcoveredontheopticaldrivebay.Insertafingerintothe
holeintheEMIshieldandcarefullypulltheEMIshieldoutofthefrontofthechassis.
