• The remote control SUBTITLE button can be used to select the
desired subtitle language on the loaded DVD. Refer to page
4-8 for more information.
Auto Language On, Off
Controls audio track and subtitle language selection. When On is
selected, the RT-10 automatically selects the default disc audio
track and subtitle language, regardless of the Audio Language
(3-37) and Subtitle Language (previous page) parameter settings.
When Off is selected, the RT-10 selects audio track and subtitle
language based on the Audio Language and Subtitle Language
parameter settings.
Note the following:
• In most cases, subtitles do not appear on the on-screen display
when the Subtitle Display parameter (3-40) is set to Off,
regardless of the Subtitle Language (previous page) and Auto
Language parameter settings.
• If the loaded disc does not include subtitles, subtitles do not
appear on the on-screen display, regardless of Language tab
parameter settings.
DVD Language Refer to the table on pages A-14 and A-15
Determines the language in which DVD menus and top menus
appear. If the selected DVD menu language is available on the
loaded DVD, the RT-10 selects that language. If the selected DVD
menu language is not included on the loaded DVD, the RT-10
selects the default disc menu language. When w/ Subtitle
Language is selected, DVD menus appear in the selected subtitle
language.
Select Other to choose a language other than English, French,
German, Italian, or Spanish. The DVD format recognizes 136
different languages, which are listed in the table that begins on
page A-14. When Other is selected, the DVD Language screen
shown above opens on the on-screen display.
