Why does my LG LMXC23796 Refrigerator ice have a bad taste or odor?
    • W
      William BurtonSep 9, 2025
If the ice from your LG Refrigerator has a bad taste or odor, it could be due to minerals in the water supply; consider installing a water filter. If the icemaker was recently installed, discard the first few batches of ice. Old ice can also develop a bad taste, so throw it away and make a new supply. Improperly stored food in either compartment can affect the ice, so rewrap the food. Cleaning the interior of the refrigerator and the ice storage bin may also help.

Why is my LG LMXC23796 Refrigerator icemaker not making ice?
    • S
      Sarah SmithAug 23, 2025
If your LG Refrigerator icemaker isn't making ice, it could be due to several reasons. First, if the refrigerator was recently installed or the icemaker recently connected, allow up to 24 hours for it to start making ice. Ensure the icemaker is turned on by locating the on/off switch and confirming it's in the ON position. Check that the ice detecting sensor isn't obstructed and that the refrigerator is connected to a water supply with the shutoff valve fully open. Also, make sure that the icemaker shutoff arm or sensor is not obstructed.

How to fix LG Refrigerator not dispensing water?
    • C
      Christine RogersAug 25, 2025
If your LG Refrigerator isn't dispensing water, it could be due to a few reasons. If it's a new installation or the water line was recently connected, dispense 2.5 gallons of water to remove trapped air. Check if the dispenser panel is locked and unlock it by pressing and holding the Lock button for three seconds. Ensure the dispenser is set to water dispensing by pressing the Water button. Also, make sure that all refrigerator and freezer doors are properly closed, and that the tubing connecting the refrigerator to the house supply valve is not kinked. Finally, check that the house water supply is connected and the valve is fully open.

Why is my LG LMXC23796 not dispensing ice?
    • J
      Jennifer FisherAug 27, 2025
Your LG Refrigerator may not be dispensing ice if the doors are not closed completely. Also, if the dispenser is used infrequently, check the ice bin for ice cubes clumping together and break them up. The delivery chute may be clogged with frost or ice fragments; remove the ice bin and clear the chute with a plastic utensil. Ensure the dispenser display is not locked by pressing and holding the Lock button for three seconds. Also, make sure the ice bin is not empty and that the shutoff arm/sensor is not obstructed.

Why I'm experiencing trouble connecting my LG LMXC23796 to Wi-Fi?
    • R
      reynoldscalebAug 28, 2025
If you're having trouble connecting your LG Refrigerator to Wi-Fi, make sure the password for the Wi-Fi network was entered correctly. Delete your home Wi-Fi network and begin the registration process again. Turn off the Mobile data on your smartphone before registering the appliance. The wireless network name (SSID) should be a combination of English letters and numbers. Set the wireless router to 2.4 GHz and connect the appliance to the wireless router. Move the router closer to the appliance or purchase and install a Wi-Fi repeater.

Why does my LG LMXC23796 cooling system run so much?
    • V
      vrodriguezAug 29, 2025
The cooling system in your LG Refrigerator might run more than expected for several reasons. Modern refrigerators are designed to operate longer for efficiency. If the refrigerator was recently plugged in, it can take up to 24 hours to cool completely. Frequent door openings or adding a large amount of food, especially hot food, can also cause this. Ensure doors are fully closed and that the refrigerator is not in a hot location (above 110°F). Also, check if the condenser or back cover is clogged and clean it with a vacuum cleaner attachment.

    • M
      Michael LeeSep 19, 2025

Why is my LG LMXC23796 dispensing water so slowly?
    • D
      Dawn BrownSep 7, 2025
If your LG Refrigerator is dispensing water slowly, the water filter may be exhausted. It is recommended that you replace the water filter approximately every six months, when the water filter indicator turns on, or when the water dispenser output decreases. The issue could also be related to the use of a reverse osmosis filtration system or low house water supply pressure, in which case contacting a plumber might be necessary.

      Gina BentonSep 4, 2025
