Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning: Both refrigerator and freezer sections defrost automatically. Cleaning both sections once a month is recommended to prevent odors. Spills should be wiped up immediately. The appliance should be unplugged or disconnected from power before cleaning.
- Removable Parts: All removable parts, such as shelves, bins, and drawers, should be detached and hand-washed with a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Abrasive or harsh cleaners, glass cleaners, and flammable fluids should be avoided as they can damage surfaces.
- Exterior Cleaning: For black stainless steel exteriors, glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth is recommended, rubbing in the direction of the grain. For standard stainless steel, a damp microfiber cloth, rubbing in the direction of the grain, and drying with a paper towel is advised. Liquid dish soap in water can be used for stubborn stains.
- Interior Cleaning: To remove odors, a mixture of baking soda (2 tablespoons per 1 quart of water) can be used. The freezer should be allowed to warm up before cleaning to prevent cloths from sticking.
- Door Liners and Gaskets: Clean with a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Avoid cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches, or petroleum-containing cleaners.
- Icemaker Maintenance: The ice bin should be emptied and cleaned if ice cubes clump together or if the icemaker power switch is turned off for an extended period. The icemaker should be turned off if the water supply is shut off or if the refrigerator will not be used for several days.
- Leveling: The refrigerator has two front leveling legs that can be adjusted to alter the tilt from front-to-back or side-to-side, ensuring stability and proper door closure.
- Condenser/Back Cover: Advised to clean with a vacuum cleaner and attachment to prevent clogging.
