The LG Portable Bluetooth Speaker is designed to deliver high-quality audio in a portable format. Its primary function is to play music and other audio content wirelessly via Bluetooth from a connected mobile device. The speaker also supports a hands-free function, allowing users to answer and disconnect calls directly through the device.
A key feature of this speaker is its sound enhancement capabilities, including "dts Stereo Plus" and "SOUND BOOST" modes, which can be activated to optimize the audio experience. The device also incorporates a "Mood light" feature, offering customizable lighting options to complement the listening environment. Users can choose from preset mood light settings like "Party," "Water," and "Forest," or create a custom style using the "LG XBOOM" app.
For expanded audio experiences, the speaker supports "Dual Mode," enabling two speakers to be paired together for a stereo sound setup. Additionally, a "Multi Mode" feature allows for the connection of multiple speakers, though this functionality is exclusively managed through the "LG XBOOM" app. The speaker also integrates voice command functionality, allowing users to interact with their smart device's voice assistant directly through the speaker.
To power on or off the speaker, simply press the power button. The device features a built-in rechargeable battery, and its status can be checked by holding the power button for 2 seconds. The charging LED indicates the charging status: red for charging and green (then off) when fully charged. The battery LED provides a more detailed status: green for ≥ 70% charge and amber for > 10% charge. A blinking red light indicates that the battery needs to be charged. The speaker is charged via a DC IN 5V port, using an AC adapter (not supplied).
To pair a mobile device, users need to select "LG-PN5(XX)" from their device's Bluetooth list. The Bluetooth LED will blink during pairing and remain on once connected. The speaker also supports pairing with another device by holding the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds.
Music playback can be managed directly from the speaker. The play/pause button allows users to start or stop audio. To skip forward, press the play/pause button twice, and to skip backward, press it three times.
When a call comes in, users can receive or disconnect it by pressing the play/pause button.
The volume can be adjusted using the dedicated volume buttons, marked with "-" and "+".
The speaker offers "dts Stereo Plus" and "SOUND BOOST" sound effects, which can be toggled by pressing the sound effect button.

The speaker is designed with IPX5 water resistance, meaning it is protected against jets of water. This feature enhances its durability and suitability for outdoor use, but it should not be submerged in water.
To maintain the unit, use a soft, dry cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Avoid using strong solvents such as alcohol, benzene, or thinner, as these might damage the surface of the unit. Do not use volatile liquids such as insecticide spray near the unit. Wiping with strong pressure may damage the surface. Do not leave rubber or plastic products in contact with the unit for a long period of time.
It is recommended to fully charge the device before using it for the first time. To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the battery to excessive heat, such as direct sunlight, fire, or similar conditions. The battery should not be stored or transported at pressures lower than 11.6 kPa and at above 15,000 m altitude.
When disposing of old batteries or the battery pack, it is crucial to follow proper environmental guidelines. Do not dispose of them with other waste. Instead, place them in appropriate containers at designated collection points to prevent contamination and harm to human and animal health. Local, free reimbursement systems for batteries or battery packs may be available in your area.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover or back of the speaker. There are no user-serviceable parts inside, and all servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel. Do not block any ventilation openings and ensure proper ventilation if the unit is placed in a confined space. The apparatus should not be exposed to water (dripping or splashing), and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the apparatus. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus. This unit contains magnets which can be harmful to some objects like magnetic cards or pacemakers.
