Function Description:
The LG air conditioner is designed to provide cooling and potentially heating (though the manual emphasizes cooling for initial test runs) for indoor spaces. It utilizes a refrigerant system to exchange heat, and features a drain pump for condensate removal. The system can be controlled via a wired or wireless remote controller, offering flexibility in operation. The manual details the physical installation of both indoor and outdoor units, electrical wiring, pipe connections, and drain piping, ensuring proper functioning and safety. Important Technical Specifications:
- Piping: Gas side and Liquid side pipes are required.
- Drain Hose: Insulated drain hose is specified, with inner diameters of 32mm for Cassette type and 25mm for Duct type. An additional drain pipe for convertible types has an outer diameter of 15.5mm.
- Hanging Bolt: W 3/8 or M10, length 650mm.

- Hexagonal Wrench: 4mm, 5mm.
- Refrigerant Line Length: Rated performance for refrigerant line length is 7.5m (for UU12, UU18 models).
- Drain Piping Slope: Must have a down-slope of 1/50 to 1/100 to prevent reversal flow.
- Drain Raising Pipes: Must be installed at a right angle to the indoor unit and no more than 300mm from the unit.
- Heat Insulation Material: Polyethylene foam with a thickness of more than 8mm for drain piping. For refrigerant piping, heat insulation material with excellent heat-resistance (over 120°C) is required. Adiabatic glass wool with a thickness of 10 to 20mm is recommended for units in high humidity environments.

- Circuit Breaker: Required, 30A circuit breaker or time delay fuse.
- Capacities: UU12 (15A), UU18/24 (20A), UU30 (30A), UU37 (25A).
- Remote Controller Cable: Extension cable for wired remote controller should be specification 2547 1007 22# 2 core 3 shield 5 or above, not exceeding 50m to avoid communication errors.
- External Static Pressure (ESP) Settings (Duct Type): Various settings for different models (UB18, UB24, UB30, UB36, UB42, UB48, UB60) across different steps (0-15) and fan speeds (High, Med, Low), measured in mmAq and CMM(CFM). These settings are based on 230V.
Usage Features:
- Remote Control: Wired and wireless remote controllers are available for operation.
- Two Thermistor System (Optional): Allows selection of temperature control based on the main body thermistor, wired remote controller thermistor, or the lower temperature between the two, providing precise room temperature management.
- Adjusting Air Volume (Cassette Type): Air volume can be adjusted based on ceiling height (more than 3.3m, 2.7-3.3m, less than 2.7m) to optimize comfort.
- External Static Pressure Setting (Duct Type): Allows adjustment of ESP to match ductwork requirements, ensuring optimal airflow.
- Test Run: A mandatory test run (more than 5 minutes, automatically cancelled after 18 minutes) is required after installation to verify proper operation and check for issues like leaks, abnormal vibrations, and noise.
Maintenance Features:
- Air Filter Cleaning: The manual instructs to teach the customer about air filter cleaning as part of the "HAND OVER" process.
- Seaside Installation: For units installed near the seaside, periodic cleaning (more than once/year) of dust or salt particles stuck on the heat exchanger using water is recommended. Additional anticorrosion treatment may be necessary if installation guidelines are not met.
