  If your LG washer isn't draining properly, there might be a few reasons. First, check if the drain hose is installed more than 3 1/4 feet (1 m) beyond the end of the elbow bracket; if so, lower it to within 3 feet below the end of the bracket. Also, inspect the drain hose to ensure it's not pinched or clogged; straighten it out to prevent bending. If the hose is frozen, thaw it with warm water. Finally, the drain hose could be clogged with foreign objects; in this case, open the drain pump plug cap and remove any dirt.

In this case, allow the washing machine to stand for a while and then restart the cycle. Unplug the power if the same error message appears.

  To clean the tub of your LG washer, empty it, put bleach into the detergent dispenser, and select the Tub Clean cycle. If you'd rather skip it, turn the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB or push option buttons to select the cycle you want. Keep in mind that the message will appear again for a few wash cycles until the tub is cleaned.

  If clothing is gathering on one side of the tub in your LG washer, rearrange the items to help balance the load. If you're washing stuffed animals or mats, these can become unbalanced during spinning, causing the washing machine to fail to drain. Rearrange the knitwear to help balance the load and drain it again. When washing blankets, put one in at a time.
