Maintenance Features
- Regular Inspection: Users are recommended to periodically inspect the reel for any surface damage, especially for wall-mounted reels, to ensure the stainless steel mounting hardware is intact.
- Hose Washers: Ensure hose washers are in place and all fittings are secure to prevent leaks.
- Freezing Temperature Precaution: It is crucial NOT to expose the unit to freezing temperatures with water remaining in the plumbing system, as this can damage the swivel. The unit should be drained of any residual water before storing in temperate climates.
- Water Shut-off: Always turn off the water after each use.
- Supervision: DO NOT leave water running through the hose reel unsupervised.
- Freezing Prevention: DO NOT expose the reel to freezing temperatures with water remaining in the unit.
- Water Potability: DO NOT consume water from the garden hose; it is not fit for human consumption.
- Troubleshooting Swivel Issues:
- Kinking Leader Hose: If the swivel head is not rotating, remove the leader hose, turn the square head of the swivel several times, and apply lubricant.
- Leaking Swivel:
- Apply Teflon/Plumber's Tape on threads and ensure fixtures are tightened.
- Check for the presence and condition of the hose washer inside the nut. A new hose washer can be obtained from Liberty Garden Products or a hardware store.
- If O-rings are worn (in older swivels), contact Liberty Garden Products for a new set.
- If issues persist, contact customer service.
- Warranty Claims: For warranty claims, customers must notify Liberty Garden Products in writing (via mail or email) or by telephone, providing a full description of the defect and proof of purchase. The company will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) if the claim merits review.
- Cleaning: The limited warranty does not cover defects due to improper or inadequate cleaning.
