  If the heart rate reading on your Life Fitness Elliptical Trainer is initially detected but then lost, it may be due to interference from personal electronic devices like cell phones or MP3 players. To fix this, remove the source of the noise or try repositioning the elliptical trainer. It can also happen if the equipment is near other sources of noise such as audio/video equipment, fans, two-way radios, and high voltage/high current power lines.

What to do if heart rate reading is erratic on Life Fitness Elliptical Trainer?

  If the heart rate reading on your Life Fitness Elliptical Trainer is erratic or absent, make sure the belt transmitter electrodes are wet enough and laying flat against your skin. If not, wet the electrodes and adjust the belt. Also, clean the belt transmitter with mild soap and water. Ensure the belt transmitter is within 3 feet of the heart rate receiver. If the battery is depleted, contact Life Fitness Customer Support Services for instructions on how to replace the Polar telemetry heart rate chest strap. Also ensure the Polar telemetry heart rate chest-strap is applied and move closer to the heart rate receiver. Wait up to 10 seconds for the heart rate to display on the console.

Why are heart rate readings abnormally elevated on my Life Fitness CSX Club?

  If the heart rate readings on your Life Fitness Elliptical Trainer are abnormally elevated, it might be due to electromagnetic interference from devices like TVs, cell phones, computers, cars, high voltage power lines, or other motor-driven exercise equipment. Another heart rate transmitter within 3 feet could also be the cause. To resolve this, try moving the elliptical a few inches away from the source of interference, or vice versa, until the heart rate readings become accurate.
