Why does my Life Fitness Treadmill belt slip during footfall and reduce speed?
- CCindy LewisJul 26, 2025
Belt slippage and reduced speed on your Life Fitness Treadmill can occur if you exceed the belt's intended striding speed, or if the unit has been used for 3000 hours or 15000 miles (24,150km) or more. Ensure proper usage of the treadmill. Inspect the belt and deck for excessive wear and replace any defective parts. The deck laminate may be worn, the underside of the belt may be glazed, or there may be excessive wax build-up. Consider replacing both the deck and belt, and update the service menu. Also, check the wax system for malfunctions and the power source, ensuring it's plugged into a dedicated 120V, 20 amp circuit. Check the tension of the striding belt and the rear roller or drive belt, and perform a stall test, re-tensioning as necessary.
