Why is the heart rate reading erratic on my Life Fitness 91X?

  Erratic or absent heart rate readings on your Life Fitness Elliptical Trainer can occur for several reasons: * The belt transmitter electrodes may not be wet enough. Wet the belt transmitter electrodes. * The belt transmitter electrodes are not laying flat against the skin. Ensure the belt transmitter electrodes are laying flat against the skin. * The belt transmitter may need cleaning. Wash the belt transmitter with mild soap and water. * The belt transmitter is not within three feet (one meter) of the heart rate receiver. Make sure the chest strap transmitter is within the appropriate range. * The chest strap battery might be depleted. Contact Life Fitness Customer Support Services for instructions on how to have the chest strap replaced.

  Abnormally elevated heart rate readings on your Life Fitness Elliptical Trainer might be caused by electromagnetic interference from several sources, including television sets, antennas, cell phones, computers, cars, high voltage power lines, or other motor-driven exercise equipment, or another heart rate transmitter within three feet. Move the elliptical trainer or the source of interference a few inches away until the heart rate readings are accurate.
