Why is the heart rate reading erratic on my Life Fitness equipment?

If your Life Fitness equipment shows erratic or absent heart rate readings, start by ensuring the belt transmitter electrodes are sufficiently wet. If that doesn't resolve the issue, make sure the electrodes are lying flat against your skin. A dirty belt transmitter can also cause problems, so wash it with mild soap and water. Ensure the belt transmitter is properly set up by initially bringing it within 1 foot of the receiver (console); after the heart rate appears on the console, extend the range to 3 feet. If the chest strap battery is depleted, contact Customer Support Services for replacement instructions.
