  Erratic or absent heart rate readings on your Life Fitness equipment can occur for several reasons. The belt transmitter electrodes may not be wet enough, so ensure they are adequately moistened. Also, check that the belt transmitter electrodes are lying flat against your skin. The transmitter might need cleaning; wash it with mild soap and water. Ensure the belt transmitter is properly set up by initially bringing it within 1 foot of the console receiver until the heart rate is displayed, then extend the range to 3 feet. If the chest strap battery is depleted, contact Customer Support Services for instructions on how to have the chest strap replaced.
