Why are my Life Fitness equipment heart rate readings abnormally elevated?

  Abnormally elevated heart rate readings on your Life Fitness equipment can be caused by electromagnetic interference from devices like TVs, antennas, cell phones, computers, cars, high voltage power lines, motor-driven exercise equipment, or another heart rate transmitter nearby (within 3 ft or 0.9 m). To resolve this, try moving the equipment or the interfering device a few inches away from each other until the heart rate readings become accurate.

What to do if my Life Fitness equipment heart rate reading is erratic or absent?

  If the heart rate reading on your Life Fitness equipment is erratic or absent, consider the following possible causes and solutions: * Ensure the belt transmitter electrodes are sufficiently wet. If not, wet the electrodes. * Make sure the belt transmitter electrodes are laying flat against your skin. * Clean the belt transmitter with mild soap and water. * Confirm the belt transmitter is within 3 ft (0.9 m) of the heart rate receiver. * Ensure the Polar telemetry heart rate chest strap is properly attached and you are close enough to the receiver. Wait up to 10 seconds for the heart rate to display. Maintain a distance within 3 ft (0.9 m) once it starts communicating. Note that the strap needs to be 1.5 - 2 ft (0.5 - 0.6 m) away from the receiver to initiate communication.
