Why is there porosity in my weld and a variable arc with my Lincoln Electric LN-15 WIRE FEEDER IM910 Welding System?

Porosity and a variable arc can result from several issues: the part being welded may be wet, dirty, or rusty; the electrode could be wet, dirty, or rusty; there might be insufficient shielding gas flow due to cuts in the gas hose; moisture or water could be present in the shielding gas line; there may be too much shielding gas; excessive wind or drafts; the arc voltage might be set too high; or the wrong shielding gas could be in use.
