  For Lincoln Ovens with Electronic Temperature Control, check for 120 VAC across L1 and L2 on the temperature control board. With the power off, check the ohms across the red and black leads of the potentiometer (1000 ohm, 1 turn); the reading should vary from 0 to 1000 ohms as the dial is turned. From green to red, the reading should be a steady 1000 ohms throughout the full turn of the dial.

  If the Lincoln Oven fan isn't running, start by checking the incoming power supply. Look for tripped breakers and reset them if necessary. If power issues persist, contact your power company. For export ovens, verify the control circuit step-down transformer's secondary output is at 120 VAC. Inspect and replace oven fan fuses or the fuse holder if needed. Check the fan switch for continuity between terminals. Examine the main relay for continuity to the 120 VAC coil, power to the coil, and voltage to the terminals. Inspect the fan motor for opens, shorts, or grounds, and manually turn the fan blade to check for a locked rotor. Lastly, check the capacitor for opens, shorts, or grounds.

  If your Lincoln Oven isn't heating, first ensure there's an adequate gas supply to the oven and that the manual gas shut-off valve is open. Check that the fan switch is in the "on" position. Verify the main oven fan is operating; if not, refer to the troubleshooting steps for 'Oven fan will not run'. Check the burner switch for 120 VAC to neutral on both sides; replace the switch if voltage is present on only one side.

  If your Lincoln Oven (equipped with a control box cooling fan) isn't automatically cooling, check the incoming power supply and reset breakers if needed. Ensure there's 120 VAC at the cooling fan thermostat. Verify the cooling fan thermostat is functioning correctly (it closes at 120°F and opens at 100°F). Pre-heat the thermostat and check for continuity; replace it if the switch is open. Also, check for 120 VAC to the cooling fan; if the voltage is present and the fan isn't running, replace the fan.

  If your Lincoln Oven (equipped with a control box cooling fan) isn't cooling the control box, check for power to the Main Fan Relay. Visually inspect for contact pull-in. For export ovens with a control circuit step-down transformer, the cooling fan supply voltage is 240 VAC. With the power off, check for a locked rotor. Verify there's 120 VAC to the cooling fan. If 120 VAC is present at the fan motor but the fan isn't running, replace the fan assembly.

  Both the main fan motor and burner blower motor in your Lincoln Oven are equipped with thermo-protection and will stop operating if not cooled properly. This can cause intermittent cycling. Also, most of the issues listed under "oven will not heat" can cause intermittent failures.

What to do if my Lincoln Oven has a pilot flame but no main flame?

  If your Lincoln Oven has a pilot flame but no main flame, check the flame sensor. With a visible pilot flame, connect a digital multimeter in series between the flame sensor wire and terminal #4 to measure the current. For a Johnson G-65 control, the reading should be 0.2 micro amp D.C. minimum, and for a Johnson G-60 control, it should be 0.7 micro amp D.C. minimum. Replace the flame sensor if these values aren't met. Also, inspect the flame sensor wire and connections for any damage. If the flame sensor is working, check for 24 VAC at the main valve to see if it has opened. Connect a manometer to the manifold gas pressure tap to check for gas presence. If no gas is present, replace the ignition control and valve assembly.

  If the main fan in your Lincoln Oven isn't cooling down, check the cool down thermostat. It should close at 160°F and open at 140°F. Ensure there's 120 VAC at the thermostat. With the thermostat pre-heated, check for continuity. Replace the thermostat if the switch is open.

  If the red indicator light is on but there's no main flame in your Lincoln Oven (with a mechanical thermostat), first check for gas supply at the temperature control. Ensure the temperature control is set above 300°F. Inspect the main orifice for any blockage. If no blockage is found, replace the temperature control.
