This document describes a kettle with temperature control, designed for household use. It emphasizes safety, proper operation, and maintenance to ensure user satisfaction and product longevity.
Function Description
The kettle is designed to heat water efficiently and safely, featuring a temperature control mechanism. It is intended for domestic use, such as in staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, other residential environments, and bed and breakfast establishments. The appliance is not designed for continuous professional use and requires temporary stops during operation.
Usage Features
General Operation:
To use the kettle, first ensure the power cord is completely unrolled and connected to a correct socket-outlet. Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water, ensuring the water level is between the MIN. and MAX. marks to prevent overflowing. Place the kettle on its base. Switch the machine to the "ON" position; the control lamp on the kettle will illuminate, indicating that the water is heating. Once the water boils, the appliance will automatically switch off. Carefully take the kettle and pour the water, taking care to avoid any burns or splashes.
First Use:
Before the first use, it is recommended to rinse the inside of the kettle. Fill the tank halfway with fresh water (without any additives). Switch the kettle to the "ON" position. Once the water boils, the apparatus will automatically turn off. Carefully empty the water into a sink, watching out for scalding. The appliance is then ready for use.
Safety Precautions during Use:
- Always ensure the lid is tightly closed before and during operation to prevent boiling water from being ejected, especially if the kettle is overfilled.
- Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
- Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.
- Never use the kettle without water in it.
- Always switch off the appliance before removing it from its stand.
- Avoid any spillage on the connector.
- Never touch the hot surface of the product; use only the handle or the button.
- Do not unplug or move the appliance by pulling the cord.
- Do not wind the cord around the appliance or twist it.
- Always place the appliance on a stable, flat surface.
- Never let the cord of the kettle hang from a table.
- Do not put the jug in an oven (including a microwave oven) to warm up water.
- Handle the jug with care to avoid scalding, as the temperature of the prepared water is high.
- The kettle should only be used with the provided stand.
- Always set any control to "off" before unplugging from the socket.
- Ensure the ambient temperature is above 0°C for proper functioning.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer or separate remote control system.
Troubleshooting Common Issues:
- Auto shut-off before boiling: This is usually due to scale in the kettle or an inadequate amount of water, which triggers the dry-running protection. To resolve, eliminate scale, or if due to low water, pour cold water into the kettle and allow approximately 2 minutes for the security to reset before restarting.
- Kettle does not work: Check that the plug is properly inserted into a working socket. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified maintenance professional.
- Water has a strange smell: This often occurs during the first use. To solve this, follow the first use instructions. If the problem persists, fill the kettle to the maximum level, add two tablespoons of baking soda, boil, and then empty the kettle.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning:
- Always ensure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down before cleaning.
- For exterior surfaces, gently wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- For inner walls, use a soft damp cloth or a soft brush to remove residues. Do not use abrasive products.
- Never immerse the jug kettle or its base in water.
- The kettle is not dishwasher safe.
- It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times, as it comes into direct contact with food.
- Refer to the "cleaning" paragraph in the manual for instructions on cleaning surfaces in contact with food.
Descaling:
- Regular descaling is crucial for optimum performance and to prevent malfunctions. The frequency of descaling depends on water hardness and boiling frequency.
- Signs that descaling is needed include increased noise during boiling or the kettle switching off before the water boils.
- General periodicity:
- With soft water: at least once every 6 months.
- With hard water: at least once every 3 months.
- Descaling agents: You can use a commercial descaling agent (always read its instructions carefully) or vinegar (0.5 liters of 8% white vinegar per kettle).
- After descaling, thoroughly rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
Storage:
- Store the appliance in a dry environment.
General Safety and Maintenance Advice:
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
- Do not allow the appliance or its supply cord to touch hot surfaces or come into contact with heat sources.
- Never operate this product with wet hands.
- Never try to open the casing yourself.
- Unwind the cord completely to avoid overheating the appliance.
- The guarantee covers manufacturing defects and household use only; deterioration from not respecting safety instructions is not covered.
- The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
- Never use the appliance if the power cord is damaged, if it operates poorly, if it has been damaged in any manner, if it has been submerged in water, or if it has been dropped.
