Overview

This document describes a Livoo tea pot kettle with variable temperature, designed for household use. It emphasizes user safety, proper operation, and maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal performance.

The kettle's primary function is to boil water and keep it warm at various temperatures, making it suitable for preparing different types of tea and other hot beverages. It features a cordless base for easy handling and a transparent body with clear water level markings (MIN 0.5L, MAX 1.7L).

Usage Features:

The kettle is designed for straightforward operation. To fill, users can either remove the kettle from its power base and open the lid by pressing the lid open switch, or fill directly through the spout. It's crucial not to exceed the maximum water level (1.7L) to prevent boiling water from spilling out, and to ensure the lid is firmly closed before operation. The kettle should always be placed on a stable, flat surface.

Once filled and placed on the power base, the kettle is connected to a power outlet. Users can select their desired temperature using the "-" or "+" buttons on the control panel. The available temperature levels are 40°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, and 100°C. After selecting the temperature, pressing the ON/OFF button initiates the heating process, indicated by the lighting up of the indicator panel. The kettle will automatically switch off once the selected temperature is reached. If the ON/OFF button is pressed again before the water boils, the heating process will stop.

A key feature is the "Keep warm" function, which can be activated after selecting a temperature and pressing the ON/OFF button. This function maintains the water at the selected temperature for up to 2 hours. It's important to note that the keep warm function only works for this duration.

The kettle includes a removable filter for tea making, allowing users to prepare tea directly in the kettle. However, a specific caution is given not to boil tea at 100°C.

Safety is paramount during use. Users are advised never to remove the lid while the water is boiling and to position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle. Only fresh and cold water should be used. The appliance should never be operated without water, as it is equipped with a boil-dry protection system that automatically switches off the power in such an event. If this occurs, the kettle must be allowed to cool before refilling with cold water and re-boiling. The hot surface of the product should only be touched using the handle or the button.

Maintenance Features:

Regular cleaning and descaling are essential for maintaining the kettle's performance and hygiene. Before any cleaning, the appliance must be unplugged from the supply socket and allowed to cool down completely.

For external cleaning, a soft damp cloth should be used to wipe the surfaces, followed by thorough drying. A soft damp cloth or a soft brush can be used to clean the inner walls of the kettle to remove any residues. It is strictly forbidden to immerse the jug kettle or its base in water, and it is not dishwasher safe. Abrasive products should never be used for cleaning.

Descaling is a critical maintenance task to ensure optimum performance, especially given that the appliance comes into direct contact with food. The frequency of descaling depends on water hardness and boiling frequency. Signs that descaling is necessary include an increase in boiling noise or the kettle switching off before the water boils. Generally, for soft water, descaling is recommended at least once every 6 months, and for hard water, at least once every 3 months.

Users can employ a commercial descaling agent, carefully following its instructions, or use a mixture of 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water. When using the vinegar mixture, it's important to respect the maximum water level marked on the product. After descaling, the inner part of the kettle must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water.

The removable filter for tea making should also be cleaned regularly. If the temperature button surface has water on it, it should be cleaned with a dry cloth.

The manual also provides general safety advice, emphasizing that the appliance should not be used if the power cord is damaged, if it operates poorly, if it has been damaged in any way, or if it has been submerged in water. Any repairs should be carried out by a competent qualified electrician. The cord should always be unwound completely to prevent overheating.
