Why is my Lochinvar Water Heater not producing enough hot water?
    • B
      Brandon GarciaAug 8, 2025
Several factors can cause insufficient hot water. The thermostat might be set too low; try setting the thermostat dial to a higher temperature. The upper or lower temperature probe might be out of calibration, requiring a qualified service agency to check continuity and resistance, and replace the probes if needed. The main manual gas shutoff valve could be partially closed; ensure it's fully open. The heater might be too small for the demand; try spacing out water usage to allow the heater time to restore water temperature. Finally, the heater recovery may be slow, requiring a qualified service agency to check the gas input and look for inlet air or flue gas exhaust blockages.

      Patrick MendezAug 12, 2025
If your water is not hot enough, the thermostat may be set too low. Try setting the thermostat dial to a higher temperature. Alternatively, the upper or lower temperature probe may be out of calibration, in which case you should call a qualified service agency to check the continuity and resistance of the probes, and replace them if they are out of specification.

How to fix water leaks in my Lochinvar CLN 120080 Water Heater?
    • M
      Marie EdwardsAug 21, 2025
If you have water leaks, first check if the drain valve is not closed tightly. If it is loose, try to close it tightly. If the drain valve cannot be closed tightly, replace it. If you cannot identify or correct the source of the leak, shut off the gas supply to the heater and close the cold water inlet valve to the heater, then call a qualified service agency.

What causes pounding or water hammer in my Lochinvar CLN 120080 Water Heater?
    • C
      craiggallegosSep 3, 2025
Pounding or water hammer can occur if air chambers in the piping have become waterlogged, or if the thermal expansion tank is damaged, improperly charged, or improperly sized. To resolve this, drain the piping system and refill it, ensuring the heater is off during this process. Also, check the thermal expansion tank charge pressure when the water system pressure is zero.
