Recording
TV
signals
with
the
video
recorder
via
the
EURO-AV
sockets.
You
will
only
need
this
function
if
your
video
recorder
cannot
receive
cable
TV
channels
or
if
the
TV
set
is
equipped
with
a
satellite
receiver
unit.
For
the
normal
TV
channels,
your
video
recorder
has
its
own
receiver
unit.
We
want
to
show
you
how
to
record
a
cable
TV
programme
using
the
_
video
recorder
using
one
practical
example:

Connect
the
video
recorder
with
an
AV
cable,
e.g.
to
EURO-AV
socket
1.

On
the
video
recorder,
select
the
programme
provided
for
external
signals,
e.g.
“AUX“
@
On
the
TV
set,
select
the
cable
programme
which
you
wish
to
record.

Call
up
the
‘Main
menu*'
to
the
screen
with
the
button

Select
“Video
recording’
with
the
blue
arrow
button

yellow

change
to

you
can
choose
between
VTR
and
SVHS
if
the
set
is
equipped
with
a
satellite
reception
unit
and
D2MAC
decoder.

store
the
functions,

menu

The
function
“Video
recording
ON“
prevents
you
from
accidentally
switching
to
another
TV
programme,
It
is
not
possible
either
to
switch
off
the
set
to
“Standby“
with
the
remote
control
unit.
If
you
try
to
switch
off,
the
message
“Video
recording“
appears
against
a
red
background
as
a
warning.
lf
your
set
is
equipped
with
a
satellite
receiver
and
with
“Video
recording
ON“,
you
are
recording,
for
example,
a
satellite
TV
programme,
you
can
switch
to
another
TV
or
cable
programme;
the
satellite
will
continue
to
be
transmitted
to
the
video
recorder
and
can
be
recorded.
Note:
During
two-channel
sound
and
stereo
broadcasts
in
TV
standard
PAL,
both
sound
channels
are
always
output
via
the
EURO-AV
sockets
and
Cinch
sockets.
If,
during
PAL
programmes,
you
only
wish
to
record
only
one
of
the
two
sound
channels
or
to
record
a
stereo
broadcast
in
mono,
press
the
“Mute“
button

“Sound
function"

Copying
of
video
recordings.
The
“Copy“
function
allows
video
recordings
to
be
copied
from
one
video
recorder
to
another.
The
recorders
must
both
be
connected
to
the
EURO-AV
sockets
of
the
television
with
an
AV
cable.
It
is
of
no
significance
whether
the
playback
recorder
is
connected
to
EURO-AV
socket
1
and
the
recording
recorder
to
EURO-AV
socket
2,
or
vice
versa
-
the
“copying
direction“
is
defined
by
you
in
the
“Copy“
menu.
Call
up
the
‘Main
menu"
with
the
button

and
select
menu
line
“Copy“
with
the
blue
arrow
button

Press
button

again.
If
the
lst
line
of
the
“Copy“
menu
shows
‘‘Copy
OFF"
and
you
are
receiving
a
television
programme,
this
signal
is
connected
to
the
EURO-AV
sockets.
To
start
copying,
switch
to
“Copy
ON“
in
the
“Copy“
menu
with
the
@
or
©
buttons.
Move
the
yellow
cursor
bar
to
“Direction“
with
the
yellow
arrow
button
@.
You
can
now
determine
the
direction
of
copying
with
the
©
or
©
buttons.
If
you
set,
e.g.
“Direction
EURO-AV
1
>
EURO-AV
2%
then
the
playback
video
recorder
is
connected
to
EURO-AV
socket
1
and
the
recording
video
recorder
to
EURO-AV
socket
2.
Additional
“copying
directions“
are
shown
in
the
yellow
field
at
the
bottom
of
the
menu,
e.g.
the
possibility
of
copying
from
a
camcorder
connected
to
the
front
socket
“S-term‘
to
the
EURO-
AV
socket
2,
etc.
