How to use your Longines chronograph
Your Longines quartz calibre L541 chronograph is a precise and reliable
timepiece for everyday use. As a watch, this model shows the hours,
minutes, seconds and date. Using the chronograph, you can time
events lasting up to 12 hours to the nearest tenth of a second.
Chronograph functions comprise:
Standard Start-Stop-Zero function
Add Rally function (accumulated times)
Split-/intermediate-time function.
Battery life: approx. 2 years.
Dial protected by sapphire glass (near-diamond hardness).
1. Standard Start-Stop-Zero function
When timing a single event:
1) Press button A to start the chronograph.
2) Press button A again to stop the chronograph.
3) Press button B to reset to zero.

2. Add Rally Function
For timing successive events while ignoring the intervals between them.
Each result accumulates. For example: timing the stages of a car rally:
1) At the start of the first stage, press button A to start the chronograph.
2) At the end of the first stage, press button A again to stop the chrono-
graph.
Repeat the process for each stage. At the end of the final stage the
chronograph will show the total rally time.
Press button B to zero the chronograph.
3. Split- / Intermediate-time function
For timing a single event while registering intermediary times.
1) Press button A to start the chronograph e.g. for a running race.
2) Press button B to register an intermediary time. The chronograph
meanwhile continues to time the race.
3) Press button B again. The chronograph hands catch up with the time
elapsed since the start of the race.
4) Repeat the process, pressing button B to record an intermediate
time and pressing it again to show the elapsed time of the race.
