5) Press button A at the end of the race for the total time.
6) Press button B to zero the chronograph.
Note: The Split- / intermediate-time function can also be used to time
different contestants in a race.
4. Setting the time and stopping the seconds-hand
With the crown in position 3, the watch stops and the hours- and min-
utes-hands can be turned to the correct time.
To set the time to the second by a broadcast or telephone time-signal,
pull the crown out to position 3 when the small seconds-hand reaches
60.
After setting the hours and minutes, push the crown back to position 1
signal to restart the watch.
The date changes as the hours-hand passes midnight.
5. Time-zone and date adjustment
With the crown in the intermediate position 2 the hours-hand can be
turned backwards or forwards without affecting the minutes and sec-
onds. The date advances or goes back as the hours-hand passes mid-
night.

6. Setting the chronograph to zero
If for any reason the chronograph hands are not exactly zeroed on any
register, the following operations are required.
1) Chronograph 12-hour register:
With the crown in position 2, press button A.
2) Chronograph 60-minute register:
With the crown in position 2, press button B.
3) Chronograph 60-seconds register:
With the crown in position 3, press button A.
4) Chronograph 1/10th second hand:
With the crown in position 3, press button B.
Note: Pressing buttons A or B for more than a second causes the
hands to advance rapidly.
Important: Do not leave the crown in position 2 for more than 20 min-
utes, as this interferes with the time-keeping function.
Should your chronograph need repair, it should be sent to a
Longines agent only.
Making sure your watch is water-resistant
Your chronograph is water-resistant. But if it receives a shock, it may
lose its water-resistance without you realizing it. Ask for its water-
resistance to be checked when you have your watch serviced.
