Overview

The LSG SPG-220 Spin Bike is a fitness equipment designed for indoor and family use, offering a comprehensive workout experience with adjustable resistance and various monitoring features. This owner's manual provides detailed instructions for assembly, operation, adjustment, and maintenance, ensuring safe and effective use.

Function Description:

The SPG-220 Spin Bike serves as a stationary exercise bicycle, allowing users to engage in cardiovascular workouts. It features an adjustable tension system to vary the resistance level, simulating different terrains and intensity levels. The bike is equipped with a computer that displays key workout parameters such as time, speed, distance, and calories burned, enabling users to track their progress and optimize their training. An emergency brake function is integrated for immediate stopping of the flywheel, enhancing user safety. The design includes adjustable seat height and position, as well as handlebar height, to accommodate various user body types and preferences, promoting a comfortable and ergonomically correct riding posture. Pulse sensors are included to aid in determining heart rate trends during exercise, although they are not medical devices and should be used as an exercise aid rather than for precise medical measurements.

Important Technical Specifications:

The computer on the SPG-220 Spin Bike is a 4-bit single-chip microprocessor with a no-contact magnetic sensor. It operates on 2 pcs of Size-AA or UM-3 batteries.

  • Auto Scan: Displays parameters every 4 seconds.
  • Elapsed Time: Measures from 00:00 to 99:59.
  • Speed: Measures from 0.0 to 99.9 km/h.
  • Distance: Measures from 0.00 to 99.99 km.
  • Calorie: Measures from 0.00 to 999.9 kcal.
  • Operating Temperature: 0°C to +40°C.
  • Storage Temperature: -10°C to +60°C. The bike's components include a φ42072 flywheel, 15215 left and right cranks, and JD-301 (9/16") pedals. The main frame and stabilizers are made of welded components, ensuring structural integrity. Various bolts, nuts, washers, and plastic sleeves are used throughout the assembly, with specific dimensions and standards (e.g., GB/T 12-1988 M8*52 carriage bolt, GB/T 95-2002 8 flat washer, GB/T 802-1988 M8 domed nut). The handlebar post and vertical seat post are also welded for durability.

Usage Features:

  • Adjustable Tension: The Emergency Brake & Tension Control Knob (#30) allows users to increase or decrease resistance by turning it right or left, respectively. This feature enables varied workout sessions and resistance levels.
  • Emergency Brake: Pressing down firmly on the Emergency Brake & Tension Control Knob (#30) immediately stops the bike's flywheel, providing a crucial safety mechanism.
  • Vertical Seat Adjustment: The seat height can be adjusted by slackening the spring knob on the vertical post stem, pulling it back, positioning the seat post to the desired height, aligning the holes, and then releasing and retightening the knob.
  • Horizontal Seat Adjustment: The seat can be moved forward or backward by loosening the adjusting knob and washer, pulling the knob back, sliding the horizontal seat post to the desired position, aligning the holes, and retightening the knob.
  • Handlebar Height Adjustment: The handlebar height is adjusted by slackening the spring knob and secondary knob, pulling both knobs back, sliding the handlebar post to the desired height, aligning the holes, and then tightening the spring adjusting knob and secondary knob.
  • Computer Operation: The computer provides real-time feedback on workout parameters. Users can select different functions (Scan, Time, Speed, Distance, Calories) using the mode key. The "Scan" function cycles through all parameters every 4 seconds. The "Reset" function clears all showing values by pressing the mode key for over 3 seconds. The unit automatically turns off if no speed signal is detected for over 4 minutes.
  • Pedal Installation: The pedals are marked "L" (Left) and "R" (Right) and must be connected to their respective crank arms. The Right pedal threads on clockwise, and the Left pedal threads on anticlockwise.
  • Exercise Guide: The manual includes an exercise guide with recommendations for warm-up, training zone exercise, and cool-down, emphasizing the importance of consulting a doctor before starting any exercise program. It also provides a target zone chart based on heart rate and age.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Maintenance: The manual stresses the importance of regular maintenance to prolong the machine's useful life and prevent voiding the warranty.
  • Lubrication: Moving joints should be lubricated after periods of usage.
  • Cleaning: The machine can be kept clean by wiping it down with a dry cloth.
  • Tightening Nuts and Bolts: All nuts and bolts, including those on pedals and other moving parts, must be checked and tightened regularly. Failure to do so can cause damage and void the warranty.
  • Battery Usage:
    • Batteries should be installed or replaced by adults only.
    • Non-rechargeable batteries should not be recharged.
    • Do not mix different battery types (e.g., old and new, alkaline, standard, or rechargeable).
    • Remove batteries when the product is not in use.
    • Dispose of exhausted batteries according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
    • Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
    • Supply terminals should not be short-circuited.
  • Problem Resolution: If any unusual noises are heard during use or assembly, stop immediately and do not use the equipment until the problem has been rectified.
  • Warranty and Support: The product comes with a guarantee under Australian Consumer Law. Full warranty terms and conditions are available on the LSG Fitness website. For warranty or support issues, users are advised to email support@gflgroup.com.au.
