5. The marine vinyls have been treated to withstand the ultraviolet sunrays and
mildew, as a precaution, the boat should be covered or shaded when not in use.
6. Cleaning Procedures on Vinyls
A. Grease/Pencil/Dirt:
- Medium soft brush. Ivory soap and warm water or Fantastic All-
Purpose cleaner. Rinse with water then dry.
B. Ink
- Denatured Alcohol. Rinse with water then dry.
C. Adhesive/Teak Oil/Tar/Gum:
- Wipe or scrape off excess (chill gum with ice). Harris 3M Citrus Base
Natural Cleaner, apply briefly, rinse with water, dry.
D. Mildew/Tough Stains:
- To kill the bacteria creating the mildew, vigorously brush the stain area
with a 4-to-1 mixture of water and ammonia. If brushing does not
remove stain completely, briefly apply some bleach and rinse with
water.
E. Tough Mildew Stains:
- Apply a mixture of one teaspoon of ammonia, one-fourth cup of hydro
gen peroxide and three-fourths cup of distilled water. The peroxide
bubbling appears to lift off the stain. Rinse with water.
7. Cleaning Procedures On Fabrics
A. Water Stains On Headliners:
- If fabric is still wet use an air hose and nozzle. Go over wet
areas, this will force stain back into fabric.
B. Light Stains/Water Stains:
- Using Lendow Glass Cleaner, spray over stained area. Let foam dissi-
pate, rub area with clean towel. Repeat if necessary.
C. Tough Stains/Set Water Stains:
Always try Lendow method first!
Step A. Spray Westley Clear Magic on area going 2” around stain or if pos-
sible bring wetness to a break point such as a bulkhead etc. Spray
water on the same area as directed on bottle.
Step B. Let set approximately 5 minutes.
Step C. Rub area with clean towel rotating towel to clean area as stain is
being removed. As you are rubbing go a little beyond wetness with
towel flaring edges.
Step D. Blow complete area over with air hose.
Step E. Repeat if necessary, or try the Lendow cleaner.
Step F. After stain is removed, use a clothes shaver to remove fuzzes.
D. Ink/Pencil/Blood/Grease/Dirt/Blend Stick/Marker/Crayon:
- Use Westley Clean Magic as directed on the bottle.
E. Adhesives/Teak Oil:
- Lift Off Spot Remover, then clean with Westley Clean Magic.
