Problem Diagnostics/Solution Suggestions
The coffee is too cold Possible causes:
1- The portafilter is cold.
2- The coffee grind is too fine.
3- The water circuit of the machine is
dirty (lime).
4- The boiler pressure is lower than
0.8 bar (0.08 Mpa).
In case 1, always keep the
portafilter mounted on
the AromaPerfect brew-
ing group.
In case 2, change the cof-
fee grind.
In cases 3 or 4, call a
skilled technician.
The coffee is tepid The coffee is tepid, although the
pressure is normal between 1 and 1.2
bar (0.12 Mpa).
In this case, the pressure measure-
ment is incorrect.
Call a skilled technician
to check the relief valve.
Meanwhile, in order to
use the machine, open the
steam valve, (Fig. 01; pos.
9) the boiler pressure will
drop to zero: This will con-
nect the heating elements
and the temperature will
increase. Continue this
operation every day when
turning on the machine.
The coffee is too hot Possible causes:
1- The boiler pressure is higher than
1.3 bar (0.13 Mpa).
2- The machine is covered with
something that prevents it from
cooling.
3- The machine has been installed in
a position that prevents air circu-
lation.
In case 1, call a skilled
technician
In cases 2 and 3, reset
the machine cooling
conditions.
Coffee deposit in the
bottom of the cup
There is a deposit of coffee powder in
the bottom of the cup.
Possible causes:
1- The coffee grind is too fine.
2- The portafilter is dirty inside, or
the filter is damaged.
3- The grinder mills are worn, call a
technician to replace them.
4- Too high pump pressure [>10 bar
(0.1 Mpa)] (volumetric pump ver-
sion).
In case 1, it is necessary
to adjust the grinder cor-
rectly.
In case 2, clean the porta-
filter or replace the filter;
in all other cases call a
technician.
